Possibly my favourite Ted Lasso episode ever. Definitely one of them. I hope Phil Dunster gets his Emmy nomination after this season. The subtle echoing of Jamie’s father’s mannerisms in this episode and the way Dunster holds himself in some scenes this season (arms in front of himself, hands bundled under his shirt). It’s so subtle but well done. That scene with Roy where Jamie talks about his experience as a 14 year old and he can’t remember the actual event as though he’s repressed the memory. There have been hints to Jamie’s traumatic upbringing since season 1, and I think it’s something the writers will further explore this season. In the trailer there was a shot of Keeley and Roy in what could be Jamie’s childhood bedroom- maybe that’ll be a callback to Jamie’s season one comment about having a poster of Roy on his wall as a kid. The Colin and Trent scene at the Homomonument was so well done. The pink triangle was worn on the Nazi concentration camp uniform of those jailed for homosexuality. Also I loved Dani’s request to see a single tulip when there were vases of them right behind him. Gotta love these himbos.

Couple of fun thoughts: 1) The bicycle scene with "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" was a great homage to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Loved it! 2) The Arthur Bryant's BBQ sauce was an outstanding touch - Ted has Arthur Bryant's as his background image on his laptop. If you ever find yourself in Kansas City (and are of the carnivorous persuasion), I can't recommend Arthur Bryant's enough!

Couldn't agree more! Dunster deserves so much more recognition for Jamie, and I will lead the charge for the Emmy campaign! I think you definitely have a point about Jamie's upbringing, and it's really nice to see them address it, and get to see a character grow, and heal, and have an actor pull it off flawlessly. I knew about the pink triangles in concentration camps, but I hadn't made the connection to the memorial, so thank you so much for pointing it out! Dani is the sweetest little himbo, and I will love him to the end of time ❤️

1) I've never actually seen Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. It's one of those that's been mentioned so many times, but for some reason, I never watched it. It's on my list for the channel! 2) Yes! Checkhov's BBQ 😄 The attention to detail, and the callbacks in TL are just unparalleled, and show just how much they care. Everybody's love for this show shines through in every single moment, and it's just beautiful to watch. I may have to sojourn to Kansas City to try Arthur Bryant's! I bet they're getting a surge in business right now!
