Since Hans Zimmer composed music for both Gladiator and POTC, I guess he reused some of the tracks from Gladiator in POTC. Infact. you can also hear the same theme in The Rock movie as well. Fun fact: Russell Crowe hated the monologue he gave in the arena after lifting his helmet. He claimed that the line was shit and tried to improvise and gave a number of alternate takes. Ridley Scott had a hard time convincing him that the line in the script is the best version and that's the one he needs to deliver. And Crowe was like well I am the greatest actor in the world and I can make even shit sound great. And that's what he did. :D

Ah that makes sense! I forgot Hans Zimmer had done Pirates, because I think Klaus Badelt is technically credited on the first one. I just Googled it because I thought I was going crazy 😅 And Crowe definitely made it work! That can be a frustrating part of an actor's job--whether you agree with the writing or not, you usually don't have a say in changing it, and just have to find a way to make it work.

I think Ridley Scott is a top tier producer, the majority of his films are in my top 20. His universe of making film is so good. Ever since I watched Legend(1985) with Tom Cruise I was hooked with his work.
