The Last of Us 1x06 Full Length Reaction

If you want a show that is good with cliffhanger endings, you should watch The Legend of Vox Machina. Especially season 2.

Terry Yelmene

Early on in this episode's react... directing a comment to Ellie... "He's not going to abandon you." ~ Jacqui Followed by Jacqui's repeated "I don't trust anything!" Right up into the most foreshadowing line delivered, "Be careful who you put your faith in." "The only people who can betray us are the ones we trust." ~ Maria Which gets us to both Ellie's mistrusting move to eavesdrop on Joel's complete truth dump, confession of weakness, and plea for Tommy to take Ellie - and - the most poignant confrontation of the series thus far. The surrogate daughter-to-father and father-to-daughter confrontation Joel and Ellie have needed to have since they found each other in Boston. They have needed each other to be father and daughter; since she was born... and since Sarah died in his arms. And yet, in the moment, they let each other down with insensitivity and betrayal only to seemingly accept 'becoming' father and daughter in the morning. This story, these characters, this show... is too much. Because of that resolution the two brothers are bidding farewell, Jacqui guesses that something bad is going to happen at the end. Ya. Every episode of this epic has effected me, scared me personally with all the death and despair... but... this episode... when Joel falls off the horse... bleeding to death... to Ellie's pleading... it broke me. For me, this despair was absolutely devastating... after Joel offered to go on instead of Tommy and Ellie immediately threw her pack to Joel... now Ellie's chosen and accepted suogate father... is about to leave her... the one thing Ellie can not live with. ...utterly devastating... Jacqui's immediate reaction was that Joel is going to be okay because he has 'plot armor.' But my question is... does he? Think about it... for the first time... someone besides Joel knows Ellie's secret. And Tommy is at a place that Ellie can presumably trace her tracks back to. And she has Salt Lake City as the destination of the fireflies that Marlene was going to send her to. If Joel DOES DIE... in theory Ellie could go on with Tommy as Joel's surrogate. GOD, I HOPE NOT! I hate this show. I love this show.

Movie Night

I watched the first episode with a friend (same person who started me on Arcane), and I could see why people liked it. I may go back to it at some point, along with Arcane, since I've only seen the first episodes of each of them.

Movie Night

Oh the love-hate relationship with this show! 😂 I have now been beaten over the head with "no one has plot armor," so you guys are making me doubly nervous! This is why we can't have nice things...
