magnation report - archive, content - feedback welcome (Patreon)

Hello, hows it going, its me, Magbo. was doing some thinking and thought id share whats on my mind and you can let me know what you think.

ARCHIVE

having an archive of content is cool but honestly ive not been happy with google drive's features. it is clunky and slow and does not have a password protection feature. i tested out an accessibility feature based on email, thinking i can update the archive access based on pledger emails but i found out you NEED to have a google account to access google drive and i noticed not everyone who is pledged is registered under a gmail address. after this i looked into mega, which gives me a bit more space and seems to be a lot faster when managing files which is great. mega also has the password protection feature.

so i am now thinking of migrating the google archive to mega, pinning an archive post on patreon and DM/email the pass to you monthly. im told thats a common method of handling these things. if you got any other suggestions let me know, kinda new to this.

also i just found out about extra formatting options on patreon posts lol

CONTENT

before i get to the point to explain my terminology and my nebulous picking process - doodles are quick messy drawings sometimes with color i do to check if ideas work - sketches are polished doodles ready to get colored - and colored pictures are self explanatory, finished pics.

when it comes to picking what i work on next it is very random. there is no queue, its more of a limbo where every potential sketch is both the next and last thing i want to work on until i decide i want to work on something and then i pick whatever i feel like working on in that moment. i tried to come up with a more reliable plan to go through them but thats not happening lol.

with that in mind you may have noticed i used to post finished pictures and sketches but since a few months ago i switched to finished pictures, upcoming picture sketches, and doodles at the end of the month. my thinking is: i have a ton of sketches i want to color and i have a ton of ideas i want to draw - i would like to finish a 'good number' of these sketches im sitting on right now before making more of them to add to the pile. in the meantime doodles help me go through ideas and see what works and what doesnt and at a later date i can clean them up and get them ready for coloring.

do you esteemed and venerable chads have any opinions on how content is being done now? i was thinking of doing monthly polls on randomly selected doodles to upgrade them to sketches to keep new sketches coming in, maybe do 2 separate polls one for patreon other for subscribe star.

OTHER STUFF

this month has been a little slow, had a slow start and then the hydra commission took way longer than i thought it would and ive been playing catch up on what i had planned. the chosen monthly suggestion will be a little 2 page comic (i dont know how to make comics but imma give it a good ol go), got one more commission im working on, last year's fangmon sketch is almost colored, started some work on the malo standee design (it should be ready next month), and i got 2 soraka doodles i wanted to do before the month is over.
