Level 188!

Highlights:

Level 188:

Finished lighting touches on most parts of the Level. 

Added a lot more ground debris and small environmental additions. 

Polished a few puzzles and main mechanics.

Level 2

Entity AI slightly reworked and improved. 

Entity Animation work started. 

Small linear section added at the beginning of the level. 

Coming Up:

• Level 931 building start (Planned for Thursday)

• Level 931 Livestream Poll (later in the day today)

• New Level Poll for the next alpha level up for testing (Within the next couple days)

The Details (for nerds):

Level 188:

Mostly environmental, atmosphere, and lighting work this time around! A huge amount of Nanite rubble was added to the building edge (picture above) and other parts of 188 which really adds a huge amount of depth and detail to the scene. The base floor was also displaced and simplified (with UE5 modeling tools) and then converted to nanite to blur the line between where the rubble ends and floor begins. Massive floodlights were also remodeled to be more industrial fitting and light sources were hugely scaled to give some of the beautiful soft shadows seen in the picture above. Some puddles and running water down walls were also added to give some life to the scene. Personally (as the Dev) the building edge is my favorite scene at the moment. A rainy, foggy day feel combined with a huge and expansive place feels just familiar and comforting enough to be unsettling.

Level 2: 

A bit of a touch up and rework of some AI settings. I won't get too indepth with this  because explaining AI movement gets very repetitive, but the main improvement here is efficiency and a bit of a performance boost with the AI that controls where the Entity spawns relative to you and and how they approach you as your back is turned.

Entity Animation has also started (although not being worked on by me:/) which will be one of the last things to finish before it's ready for Alpha Testing! Texturing for the entity is also almost complete and before the next alpha (within a couple days) I'm hoping to get a render out for everyone showcasing this entity because personally its one of my favorites! Based mainly on the hound entity with some arachnid inspiration.
