Friends with benefits (Patreon)

This months Goodie Bag theme winner was "Friends with benefits", and of damn, did I have fun with it~  It all started with a bunch of thumbnails to figure out what I wanted to do with the drawing in the first place. At first I circled around just a simple idea of a casual four-way but I felt like it was not using the full potential for playful interaction between them. I really wanted the energy to give out a strong "friends" aura. So by the time of the two last rows I figured that it would be really nice to put them in a gaming setting~

They would be sitting all piled up playing something competitive! Since Patrick would be the best one at it, Filip and Jean would team up to prevent him from scoring big < v < Bryan would be joyfully participating in all that this lively bunch would bring. I think it would be also a very safe bet that he won the game 😏

After finishing the drawing for the print I sat down to the sticker. I really wanted to continue the gaming setting of the friends with benefits, but the pose I had in mind didn't work well for the sticker. Also it was super late so I just filled the page with random poses and decided to revisit this idea the next day.

Maybe it wasn't the best idea for the sticker, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless and wanted to bring it to life! The empty space was filled with the ideas for a different pose but similar concept. The bottom left was really cute but I wanted to see both of their faces and fully use the potential of their expressions~!

So after brainstorming around the idea of FWB and gaming I went with the playfulness of being a demanding irritation to your focused on the task friend~ Since it would be pretty hard for me to create nice clean text in the achievement pop up box, I split it for easier editing in Photoshop. And of course, once I start drawing playful Jean I cannot just stop like that! She loves to be a tease and to expose her beautiful body, and well, sometimes she also finds a double use for those nicely vibrating game controllers 😏🔥

And here's the mock-up for the sticker!  It will a simple vinyl sticker with a matte finish~
