Hi! Recently, right before my shop update, my pc decided to die on me. That made me a bit stressed not gonna lie, especially that on Monday was to go on a week long vacation. Thankfully I could use my husband's pc to manage all of the shop activities, prepare all orders for shipping and with his help I hope to have everything finished on Friday so I can prepare to see my friends at the start of the next week 🙌
In the meantime I was trying out some thicker mechanical pencil (KOH-I-NOOR Versatil 5347) with soft leads and blue thin PITT markers from Faber-Castell. It was not easy to switch to something else after few years of constant usage of a one damn pencil i love 🤣

Today my pc came back to me from the service and I had the chance to scan all of the sketches I made during the hiatus from the screen.

The problem with switching from thin leads to chunky ones was that I had to use a completely different grip and get used to it. Took me a while but in the end I found it pretty comfortable. I still have to learn a lot about varying the line thickness, but it was not that bad for the first time!

These babies instantly made me think more about every line i wanted to put down on paper. There's no going back with this medium. I had to remember to make pretty confident strokes  and use the very tip of the brush marker to accentuate the muscles. I think I might fiddle around with it some more in the future ✨
(As always full res scans in the attachments!)

After making these studies I played around with one of the ideas suggested by you on our discord server, but more on that in the next post!

I love working with ink pens too ❤️ just as you said, makes you be confident and thoughtful with your strokes at the same time! Also I adore the simplicity it often promotes

And it's very good to practice line control which in the long run boosts up the line quality! Les hay like lines~
