I always have a problem with starting a bigger project if I'm not warmed up, especially in the mornings. My hand isn't working well, my brain is too slow and too lazy to actually imagine poses and make an effort to make it look even slightly life-like.

But what always works for me is 60/90sec sketches with posemaniacs.com.
With a very short amount of effort my hand is quickly warming up and my brain is forced to solve problem with the least amount of lines as possible to convey the gesture while keeping up with the ticking clock.

Once I'm warmed up it's easier to imagine my own poses and to put them down on paper with almost no effort needed. I recommend this exercise to everyone. Especially to people who have a hard time with letting go of shitty wonky sketches. You'll learn how to move on to the next sketch and the next one. There's no time to dwell on mistakes when the clock is ticking. Plus it's only an exercise, it's meant for your eyes only. It's there to make you improve your eye and your hand in a awfully fast pace.

Graduatelly you'll become faster at recognizing angles, defining movement with simple few lines. After even two weeks of just an hour a day of this you'll compare your first page to your last one and you'll be amazed of how much you've progressed ♥
