Nothing gruesome today though. I've captured some of the moments that my character (who was masochistic in this rp) felt aroused, and before shit got too much for him to handle.

The short story i wrote with Old_Shoyo involves a guy who for the first time visits his crush in his home. They have a very toxic relationship, and it's not a story that ends well. We explored some humiliation, sadism and gore as the thriller story progresses. The thin line between devotion and sacrifice is crossed while the mind games and manipulation escalate to the point of no return.

What is your stance on thriller and horror stories that explore psychological problems of the characters? Some people came to me saying that depicting unhealthy relationships romanticizes them.

My stance on it is a bit different. I see it as a thriller story. Fascinatd by the human psyche, I think that even a twisted, sick mind can rationalize it's doing and even wove in a romantic undertone into it. It seems like this is what is actually scary about it. To see a monster emerging from an usual, common things we all experiance everyday like for example love.
Of course i can see how morally debatable it is to create or consume such thriller stories.
I got to hear many strong opinions surrounding this topic. Some people believe that consuming this kind of contect is making people try to reenact it (just like the self fueling school shootings), other do research and discover that all it can do is to desensitize us to a simial contect in the future. In my opinion it both can be good and bad depending on your views about what is good and what is bad.
Is soft and sensitive better hard and salted?
We will get a different answer from a biologist, psychologist and a philosopher. What is your opinion about it?

I think it is what it is and it’s us that makes whatever we want out of it. The bottom line is as with anything, the most glaring being sexual preference, it’s no ones business but our own. People are free to judge if they want to, but as long as they don’t try to force their will on others then there are no issues. What happens between two (or more) consenting adults is their own business and people who take it upon their selves to make it their business are the truly toxic ones.

That's true, even though people seem to be very touched by fintion and stories. My natural response to the story i don't enjoy is to skip through it. Different strokes for different folks~

I think horror stories that explore sexual and psychological themes can be really intense. There are some amazing movies in this genre like Basic Instinct or Teeth. Whether the unhealthy relationship, whatever it may be, is romanticized, depends entirely on how it’s written. I’ve been reading and listening to a lot of stuff by Shawn Coyne lately to make my own writing better. So here’s a quote that says it better than I can… “The Horror Story is an allegory for the horrific world we presently or could soon inhabit. It serves as a prescriptive or cautionary tale about how to best metabolize our darkest fears and survive. The power gap between the monster and the victim is immense, and thus the victim who raises the courage to confront the force with all of their inner genius to their last breath, inspires us to do the same. To win is to survive.” So in your story, does the protagonist overcome his internal demons and survive the ordeal of the relationship? Thus giving others hope that they can do the same? Or is he consumed and destroyed by it, presenting a cautionary tale for those who fall too deep?

Thanks for that quote! I think at this point of the story he struggles to fight it, but i don't know the outcome yet~
