Hello! I definitely understand and respect your thoughts when it comes to Mickey. I personally love Mickey but I have seen all his scenes and you haven't, and that makes a difference obviously! Also -- I do agree with that he was often an asshole in the earlier seasons. Mickey's home situation is terrible, and his father is absolutely awful. I hate that man so much for so many reasons. And while I do agree that it doesn't necessarily excuse Mickey's behavior, it is a fact that Mickey's father is an awful role model and that definitely has an influence on Mickey's behavior. He probably doesn't know any better, he is still a child. But like I said, that doesn't mean it's okay for him to hurt others. It's not okay, but I do get why he behaves this way. Also, he suffers from internalized homophobia because of the way he was raised and you were right, he was kinda beating himself up. Obviously that is not okay. I grew to love Mickey a lot, and he is probably my favorite character on this show. I think he is interesting and I hope he will grow on you too! Oh and one last thing -- 3x06 is very intense, so make sure you are mentally prepared. Some shameless fans call it 3x666. Thank you for the reaction, I enjoyed it!! :)

I want to clarify something, I didn’t say you’re supposed to like Mickey in the future, I meant to say that most people usually do like him in future seasons. However, there are still people who still don’t like him as much in future seasons, it depends on how you see his situation which you will learn soon. Mickey is probably one of the most complex characters in the show, maybe even more than some of the main cast but that’s what makes him interesting because you want to know more about why he’s the way he is, how bad could his living conditions be? And from what we can imagine is probably bad enough. I’ll make it easy, if by mid-season 5 you don’t like Mickey then that means you will probably never like him (people usually like him by early season 4).

I almost forgot to tell you, episode 3 is not hard to watch, what I meant was 3x6 which means Season 3 episode 6 aka 3x666 (what fans call it, it’s as bad as the thanksgiving dinner episode), we’re telling you now so you can prepare yourself for possible triggers (I personally didn’t find It triggering but it was uncomfortable)
