Well after the STAX review I suppose something of similar value and even weirder construction is called for.

So I decided to look into the design put into these headphones. Needless to say, I'm impressed by all the thought that went into them. I found this link from their website not only informative about the NightHawk's but about headphones in general. http://personal.audioquest.com/nighthawk-measurements

So I might have a trade lined up for me to trade my X2's for someone's Nighthawks. Do you feel the Nighthawks are better than the X2's?

ZeosPantera

Better has many flavors. Which one are you looking to improve upon. Soundstage may not get bigger. But low end control should.

I'm mainly wanting a touch of brightness added because sometimes I tend to lose vocals with the X2 like in the new Gorillaz song Andromeda, sometimes the vocals get pushed down by the bass and I really have to focus on them.

ZeosPantera

Vocals I'd look elsewhere. Something planar. The new M1060 would be my go-to.

Thanks, I've been wanting to get some planars for a while and I'll look into getting them after I re-build my PC after my CPU died (RIP 4790k).
