I'm glad you like these. In addition to headphones, I collect older Klipsch Heritage series speakers. Sure they're loud brash and bold and snobby audiophiles have poo-pooed Klipsch for decades, but I find them tight, engaging and impactful. We've had various models all over our home: Heresey in the kitchen, Chorus in the den Forte in the master, Cornwall in the family room, LaScala in the theater, Klipschorn in the listening room. I like how you bi-amped the Heresy. Have you used your MiniDSP to dial in an ideal delay between the drivers? I bought a MiniDSP to do just that but have not done it yet. The throat of the mid is 8 inches behind the tweeter. and 4 inches behind the woofer. That's got to produce some crazy interference/phase issues. You could probably play the same tone through all three and then dial in the timing with an oscilloscope. Yes, they need a subwoofer for weighty impact and you'll find it hard to dial in a sub with these because they're so fast and subs are so slow. You'll want to keep the sub crossover very low. I've tried many different subs but finally nailed it by putting 2 21" sub drivers in an infinite baffle . Fast and low. That's why the Klipschorn is so unique. Using the corner of the room as a giant horn mouth with no mass produces very fast and low. But even the Khorns loved working with my IB subs for the lowest octave, but I haven't tried bi/triamping and miniDSPing the Khorns. That might bet the best solution. (Fun side note: We have 6 kids and has they grow up and leave home, they almost always tell me at some point "Daddy, my speakers suck, I miss the Klipsches!" So over the years I've collected a pair of old Heresies for each of my six kids. When they tell me they miss them, I refinish a set for them for a birthday or Christmas." )

One of my all time favorite cabinets and on the very short list of my next home speakers!

One of the best videos you’ve made so far!

You might consider laquering them or putting a clear coat to protect the veneer, as they are unfinished wood, and with a cat with claws, you want to protect those babies. Also it is about 54mm excursion for the 12inch vs 4inch for same volume of air. For 10 inch it would be approx 37mm for same volume. At 8 inches (vs 4) it would be about 24mm for same volume.

I should have mentioned how the grills will probably handle a cats claws just fine. They are TIGHT. like a tennis racket.

those sound so sharp with the subs. sound effects must sound nice on those! those remind me of my childhood when i use to mess with my pops old pioneers back then!

Ok, I am new go easy on me. I have never given anyone on YouTube money but I have watched so many of Zeos' videos and learned a lot that I have started using... the bad news is he is costing me a lot of money because as I learn I spend... ugh... I have a dumb question; I have a pair of the Heresy I's that I bought in 1978 (ok now you know I am an old guy) and I want to try to open them up and add a double terminal speaker connection and rewire the speaker input so I can control the horns and the 12" woofer separately with a MiniDSP and 2 amps. Does this even seem possible? I dont want to buy new internal crossovers... the Heresies are in excellent shape so I dont want to F them up.
