I'd say these cans [http://amzn.to/1yxmffK] are an alternative for the NVX or HM5's AS LONG AS you replace the stock pads with HM5 pads [http://amzn.to/1agp13E] which makes them roughly the same price. I think these may be of a better build quality and have a touch more low end and no replaceable cord.
