This is from the astrogaming forum site, 2013: Top Left: Pro - ASTRO’s pro gaming mode, created with our pro teams and players to provide the best sound profile for competitive gaming, accentuating details like footsteps and respawns in an immersive surround sound experience. Top Right Core – Hear your games just as the developer’s intended with no extra processing or balancing. Bottom Right Media – Best for watching movies or listening to music, accentuating vocals and bass. Bottom Left LAN - Same as EQ 1 (Pro) although the microphone has been adjusted to work better in louder environments such as eSports and LAN Tournaments.

This should also be the order the lights light as you press the button. "Press the EQ Button to cycle through the 4x different audio presets: "Pro Mode Media Mode ASTRO Mode Core Mode"

For consoles, especially Xbox who doesn’t allow usb audio, the astros are a good choice. I have shps and boom pro with brainwavz hm5 pads running through the chat adapter on the controller and that combo is at least 5X better than the Astros. I have a set of the mass drop Sennhieser PC37X’s on the way, those should be no worse than the shps set up, but when I want to go PC with a Mayflower ARC I doubt any “gaming headset” will be able to come close.

For what it’s worth. You can actually change the presets on the mix amp via software from Astro on a pc. It gives you full control over the sliders in a equalizer. Save your custom profile and upload them to the mix amp. Very easy process.

It’s called the Astro command center. It’s listed under support, then in software on the website. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on how you can change the sound of the mix amp via the software.

Is that srsly better than my Sennheiser GSX 1000 + HD 579??? How i mix my Sennheiser HD 660s i have Fostex HP-A4 and Sound Blaster ZXR hmm... Optical tricks?
