Numba 1!!!

Yes! I love my LCD2C's and was very interested in those as well! Dude, Z, if I'm not gonna be a balanced whore, will the Asgard 2 fit the bill? Aune x7s seems a bit more difficult to obtain and closer to $300 now...

I liked their sound but the weight n clamp ruined it for me plus the seal they make made my ears pop, that and i didnt like that they were too relaxed

lol, z's gone off the deep end with the blue/white tac. Someone should make an entire amp with tac, should have good insulation, right? low noise.

Step away from the Blue "Tacky" & Google "DIY LacquerStik". I didn't want to post links to my reference, for my H&K USPc application, as my choice of solvent was for a tennifer treated slide. For plastic knobs, you'll need a different solvent.

Based on the Z review of the Audio-GD R2R11 (& the FUBAR going on @MassD over their "inspired" RDAC), I got one last week ($381.xx, shipped to U.S.). My Monolith M1060s have a new life, on my desktop.

I just printed an arrow with my label maker and stuck it to the volume knob. Now I can see it across the room. But, yeah, it's amazing how much more feedback you get knowing where the volume is.

I used to use all six of the inputs on my Marantz, Phono, CD, Tuner, Computer, Recorder (cassette), and shortwave. I've since dropped the shortwave because there's very little on now, and most of it's accessible via the internet.

I have alway just cut a thin strip of some white label stock and stuck it on all my volume knobs.

I just got a marantz PM8005, which I love and the Japanese build quality is holy god....but it leaks signal too. Did you check the Onkyo?

Anonymous

IDK, I think if I had that problem I'd prefer to stick a small white disc / large white "dot" as an indicator on an otherwise featureless round knob, instead of a line/strip. More elegant IMO.

Anonymous

That Sony reciever I showed you with the red dot also has a motorized knob. Companies are just stupid and lazy and don't want to pay the extra dollar per knob to indicate properly.

While we're talking radio reception, anyone have a recommendation for an indoor FM antenna? The dipole that came with the Sangean HDT-20 HD tuner is passable, but I could use something a little better without getting up on the roof.

ZeosPantera

I have no idea. My father use to just run some small gauge speaker wire around the room.

Anonymous

That did the trick. I took some flexible fairly large gauge wire resembling speaker wire and ran it across the picture window, about 40 feet in total in a closed loop. Reception is a good 2-3X as good as it was. I must say, the HD radio isn't really audiophile quality--but it's darned good. The weird thing is, other than the Sangean, you can't get stand-alone tuners with HD capability. It's all integrated now.

Anonymous

I have one of those. It's a decent integrated amp. The only downside is that it doesn't have optical in. I haven't noticed any signal leakage. I did have to ground the turntable to the ground screw on the amp. It was humming a bit.

Anonymous

Agree...I guess it will just keep us up to date on DACs. Running a Micca Origen now, as I no longer needed it on my desk. What speakers are you powering?

I thought you said the aeon flow open review would be up in 2 days

ZeosPantera

So you said this 4 days ago and I said that 2 days before the 4 days. . Shit I am behind.
