Said this before but really glad you mentioned these on the podcast Z, was able to get them on Massdrop for $50 less. I am going to stop waiting for the reviews and just buy stuff when you start raving about it Lasagna Wave, 5 week wait on the Argon mk3.

Anonymous

I also got a pair from Massdrop about 2 months ago, I am really enjoying these headphones. I even watched the two videos using my pair.

Anonymous

On Amazon link they are $227, but at the same time they are $250 at the same time. Are the two identical? That is, has there been an update after the initial release?

TILT THE GOPRO DOWN LIKE 1/4IN AAAAHHHIHASBCIBC SO AGGRAVATING

Nothing better than listening to the sound demo with the headphones that are being sound demoed.

ZeosPantera

I had a few videos where I was off. Very strange because Ive been doing this a while. I got a whole unboxing that is off by like DOUBLE this. My bad.

Z, I was hoping the Tridents would be a good closed headphone for the V-moda boom pro, but that looks like a bust due to the recessed connectors on the cups. Can you recommend a decent closed back that will work with the boompro? I sometimes use mine to take consultation calls with the 9500s for my business and would love some isolation.

Anonymous

I got them yesterday. They sound EPIC. Just as you described, you get the imaging of a great pair of speakers in front of you, with that center image. The bass is epic, feels like well controlled subwoofers right next to your ears.

ZeosPantera

This! Now put that comment in the YT as well so when it goes live people can see it. Thanks!

ZeosPantera

The boompro wouldn't work on these because it is double entry. What you probably want is a set of M&O bluetooth cans https://amzn.to/2Ik4kIF they are the RBH HP2 but with the added feature of BT. So you can use the boompro OR just use them as BT cans.

Anonymous

Yeah that's where I should've put it in the first place

Anonymous

Can you do me a favor and just say out-loud in your mirror what you wrote above, "The boompro wouldn't work on these because it is double entry". Tell me how this makes you feel. Just a suggestion

Ok, in the last week I received the M&O bluetooth cans, 1More Triple bitches, and the M1060Cs. In the search for the best portable headphone, I've owned the Edition S, MSR7s, H6 MKII, MH40, EL-8C, Momentums, NAD, HP50s, PM-3s and many others including the JBL Everest... (haven't tried the Aeon's). I mean this when I say that I really prefer the M&O's (RBH HP2) with the 1More's a close second. IMO, the H6s and MSR7's are good and relatively nuetral, but not really that exciting. With the exception of the EL-8 (which are dull as flup) I found that all the others had either accentuated or recessed mids at different ranges in the frequency response. The MH-40 has wicked impact on the bass but the mids are just crap...anyway, my point is that after all the years of searching for good portables, 2 land in my lap on the same day. I actually give the edge to the M&Os because the 1More have an ever so slight midbass bloat just above the sub-bass, which is amazeballs btw. But then there's that Triple Driver sound stage and sweet highs. Tough call, both are awesome

Hi, Zeos. As I write this, I've spent the last couple of hours listening to all 4 of these: 1More Triple Driver (US silver), 1More Triple (asian gold), RBH HP-2, and M&0 MOzeros. I've also taken them each apart to see what's under the hood. Some thoughts: a) The 1More's are interesting. There's something to the passive radiator I guess, because there really is a visceral low end that I can feel. Under layers of filter/foam in the middle of the earpieces you can see the ceramic tweeter. It's placed just behind the center of the ear center axis pointing forward, in line with the ear canal. Because of this placement, I don't think the vent holes in the front of the inside of the pads are relevant to the tweeter. But the highs are certainly there. I much prefer the silver US (graphene) version to the gold asian (titanium) version. Smoother highs, lower lows. I don't think the graphene vs titanium accounts for this, I think it's the voicing/tweaking of the designer. b) The RBH H2s and the M&Os have some surprising differences that result in quite different sound. First, they both have 45mm drivers coated with beryllium using a CVD process. The headbands and earcups are similar but upon disassembly, I can see that the RBH's use specially dampened aluminum shields on the outside of the earcups, while the M&Os are entirely plastic (perhaps for bluetooth reception?) They both have 3 holes in the earcup shield, but the M&Os have holes for bluetooth buttons that would affect pressure on the right ear, but not on the left and the BT electronics and battery take up space in the M&O earcups . . They look and feel similar, but the result is of these differences is that the 2 earphones sound different to my ears. If I play both wired, I prefer the RBH sound to the M&O. Compared to the M&Os, the RBH HP2's "come alive", smoother highs, clearer mids and deeper, more impactful bass. It's clear that the RBH designer went to the effort to dial in the parameters that differ (driver, volumes, dampening) in a way that produces superior results (to my ears). But the M&Os do have bluetooth, and I listen a lot on the go, so I listened to the M&Os them over their internal bluetooth. The pairing process is easy, and even though they're relatively easy to drive when wired, their internal bluetooth dac/amp is underpowered . If my normal listening level while wired is a 6 on a 1-10 scale from whisper to painful and , the M&Os can only generate a level of 3 on bluetooth. This level doesn't overcome road noise. I have 2 dozen different standalone bluetooth adapters and many of them are similarly underpowered, especially the ones made for the europe market where SPL is limited by law, but I have a couple (like the ear-studio ) that have enough power to drive the HP-2s and these cleanly well into pain territory without distortion. Until RBH does a bluetooth version, the best combo I've found is the RBH HP-2 with the ear-studio bluetooth adapter. c)Comparing the 1More silver graphene to the RBH HP-2 beryllium: The build quality of the 1More is great and I like the metal/pleather/clear plastic design except for the Masarati wheel plastic on the ear cup, but I think I'm I'm going to remove the distracting center spokes and expose the cool clear plastic underneath. Sound-wise, both 1More and RBH's are bass capable and can take enough power to deliver face shaking low end without distorting (second only my JVC HA-SZ2000s which fail on every measure except their amazing lowest octave). But the 1More passive radiator does not give it more bass than the HP-2. In fact, the HP-2s delivers significantly more low end reach and quantity than the 1Mores. Mids are similar, both are very good. But the RBH's have smoother highs, while the 1More's have a peak and dip around 7K-8K, and then proceed like the RBH's above that. This peak/dip results in a sound that at first seems clear, but upon closer and longer listening is really kind of harsh and ultimately fatiguing. Does this have anything to do with the ceramic driver? I don't know. If the ceramic driver is crossed over at 10K, perhaps this is the dip of the ceramic and the peak of the graphene interacting just below the crossover point. I'm not sure. Perhaps I can temporarily disconnect the ceramic tweeter and see what happens. The graphene stiffening layer on the main driver should be sufficient to 30-40K on its own, like the beryllium is for the HP-2s, so I'm not sure I understand the value of the ceramic driver especially if the crossover introduces these discontinuities. But if I do that, and it works, I'll have to rename it the 1More 1+1 (one driver and one passive radiator. d) summary: my favorites of this group are the RBH HP-2s. They sound great and are a surprisingly good value. 1More silvers are a good value too. For me, the HP-2s beat the 1Mores's on sound by a significant margin , the 1More silvers win on design and build quality. For me, the other two (1More gold titanium, and M&O MOzero) are followers to their superior cousins. Now, if the RBH HP-2 would just get back in stock...... In the meantime, I'm watching ebay and craigslist for any pre-owned HP-2s for friends.....

Holy craziballs, that was some comparison, Elliot!. Myself, I examined the 1More's under an electron microscope after freezing them in liquid nitrogen. I wasn't impressed when the 1Mores shattered into a million pieces after running current through them at 1 degree Kelvin. Seriously though, I'm waiting for the HP-2s to come back in stock, as well, as I have yet to hear them. Initially, as I stated in my above post, I preferred the M&O sound to the 1Mores. However, having both now for a while, the 1Mores have benefited a lot from burn in which has really smoothed out the edges a bit and made them less fatiguing for me. The mid-bass bloat I mentioned above is not as pronounced, and even non existent with some genres. My comparison also benefits from my portable use of my ifi idsd BL which has the power to really make the triple bitches come to life, while simultaneously threatening to blow the M&Os into pieces. I have to check the gain switch often to make sure I don't loose the M&Os and my ears in one 4 watt ifi-ejaculation when comparing back and forth. I feel blessed to have both cans really and will continue to compare in a 900 page epic which I will post here in the days to come, after first posting on Wattpad, of course.

Good to know, Jan. I'll keep burning in the 1Mores. Yep those berylliums in the HP2s and M&Os are very efficient. I'm looking to add an ifi black, Audeze Deckard or headphone-modded Emovita to my stable. Glad to know the ifi really cranks. I'm driving most of my listening today through a 2wpc schiit stack (listening station) or Chord Mojo or ear-studio (on-the-go). In your search for HP-2s, I just found a seller of 3 pair of new HP-2s here for $115 each: https://www.ksl.com/classifieds/listing/52002208. RBH says they sometimes have B-stock of HP-2s for $90 if you call them directly.

ZeosPantera

I haven't heard the HP2's in a while and I am probably going to recommend the M&O in their stead. They are readily available and $70 cheaper than the original RBH cost was WITH bluetooth.

Ha! KSL!, I used to live in Salt Lake City. can't believe you found some on there. Looks like they're gone already as the link no longer works. I'll call RBH. Thank you!

1More 3X driver HP: picked up a pair and recv'd them on June 9th. After about 20 hrs. of burn in, the initial upper harshness has calmed down a bit. But they're still border line annoying, especially when I compare them to my Fidelio X2's. Recognizing that these are V shaped, my intent is to relegate them to Dance Club Reggae and 2000s Hip Hop. I'm going to give them another 2 days of burn in, before possibly kicking them to the curb.

ZeosPantera

The X2 are very wide and soft headphones. If they are what you have to come from you will definitely fell the difference in the highs.

Sent the 1mores back today; they were just too fatiguing. Couldn't even listen to an entire Sean Paul song, at moderate levels. I thought that I was missing something, as my only closed back headphones are the wired, Sennheiser Momentums v2 . But I guess that I now know that I'm all about that "veiled" Sennheiser profile.

Got my pair today and can confirm HD700 cables are perfect fit. For longer cable application of course.
