I feel like I should write something here. Considering these are the most expensive speakers I have got to review. And really good. Yeah...

As much as I like real wood veneer I think the first step to upgrading the look would be Solid paint colors. Maybe remove the top corners. Make the grill not full face. There is a foot on bottom of the 12" that if it was finsihed could be exposed. You can/should even make the grill slightly see-thru.

Klipsch knows how to design modern looking speakers, check out the Palladium series. Even though, sadly, they no longer manufacture them. Even the RP series look pretty modern. I've always felt the same way Z does about Klipsch Forte, Cornwall, Heresy... They just look like speakers from the 70s and not in a good way. A lot of it is the paper cone. Does it have to be all black? I dunno, sumpn. That's why speaker makers sometimes hire BMW designers or the like to help with the aesthetics. That won't stop me from buying them, however. For me sound comes first. So much so that I wear the 1970s looking Alpha Primes around with my portable rig. I look ridiculous, an it sounds so good, I don't care. But would I prefer a better look? Yaww Surr You betcha

Klipsch has always been very efficient when I listened to them in early 80"s. Zeos no need for a sub for listening as stereo speaker setup ? I will listen to these next week at RMAF and I will tell them Zeos sent me and said get them off that F*****ING floor.

Not sure if serious or doesn't know the meaning of 'heritage' :D Also, we've heard "there's no replacement for displacement"...these have it. Acoustic suspension to boot...

I'd say the transition to "modern" hifi happened in the mid to late 80's with the invasion of British hifi and audiophile bookshelf speakers (NAIM, Quad, Linn, Mission, Tannoy, KEF.) Every audiophile magazine was full of these products. I bought my first system in '88 and Klipsch was considered old school. Any three way box that looked like a package system was out of style. BTW, these are listing for $3000 each in Canada. That puts it in a different bracket.

I went through a Klipsch phase buying up all the heritage series I could find locally because I was amazed how they sounded compared to the smaller modern speakers you typically find. Have you had a chance to listen to Klipschorn's or the Lascala's? I would be interested to hear your opinions on them.
