Do many people have DAPs here? I sort of never understood the use case. If you are at home and want a super nice setup, then sure, of course... but if you're on the go, why not just use your phone? or your phone + an Oppo HA2 or something? seriously what's the benefit or use case for a DAP ever?

Most people who take my bus usually travel with their Ether C/WA-8 and they leave their Ether Flow C at home. Its really embarrassing if you bring the Flows by mistake. You'll never hear the end of it. I usually keep an extra set of Adamantium Edition 5s in my backpack, just in case

Just to have a box that plays music properly. Smaller units make more sense for most. I hate having my phone be a catch-all when I am out for a walk and want music.

I prefer the phone in most cases simply due to the superior interface and the ability to stream w/4G lte, of course. However, I do appreciate the stronger signal level you get from good daps when not using an amp. Using usb to dac/amp usually makes this a moot point, but its nice to be able to remove the clumsy amp from the rig and run straight off the dap.

Hi-Dizs maybe? Some new phones are really amping up for audiophiles. Check it out. I have sam7 and oppo. I was doing some research and phones are really working to draw the audiophile. I like the thought of all in one. Yeah, your living room could use some sound treatment. Most people cant hear the difference in files. I didn't think tidal was worth $15 more than spotify. I could hear a difference, however the price needs to come down. Human hearing is 20 to 20, so whats with phones 5 to 35? Never heard dsd or stax... Send me a pair to review. Ok? You don't need the 305s anymore. I'll even get a Wonder Women GoPro and make you proud.

So,Mass drop is pushing a drop on a dap thats no deal. Mass drop is a joke. I play with them when I'm bored. So sad. A mass plop! I wont buy anything from them. There's always something that deters me. The wait, the price, the quality, the lack of warranty. Oy! The list goes on. I'm not sure they'll see another 5. Ps tidal not worth $25 (couldn't figure out edit on last post)

Saki? Do some reviews of audiophile smartphones. Theres a new phone with all the filo stuff (I think I'm remembering correctly). There is no way in hell, I'm gonna spend $500 for aa android that I cant make a call with. Seriously, research the new phones. I'm going to look at it again. The phones are catching up.

Check out the Htc U ultra and others. Phones! U11, g6, xion7. Iphone. Nice dacs. Nice features. Thats my next. Audiophile smartphone. Forget two blocks. I'll give it another year and daps will be obsolete or pretty damn cheap.

Why is the short 4-pole to spdf adapter cable so hard to find? tried googling it, amazon search, ebay search, no luck. I'm sure I'm calling it the wrong thing. at Fiio's website under the line out tab they have a long one (L21) Gotta link for this pimp?

Im now on a search for a new DAP after by Ibassio DX90 was jacked outa my car. The Fiio X5 gen III made my mouth absolutely water. Dammit Zeos. haha
