Now that I have watched a couple of reviews that you have done, (great job) I am now reconsidering building the Dayton Subwoofer and going the extra mile in cost for the SVS SB4000 subs. Do you feel the extra cost for the SVS is worth the money over building the Dayton Sub with the Dayton Sub Amplifier as per sonic quality and performance?

ZeosPantera

If you spend the money you get an SVS which for the warranty and time savings equals out. Also ported vs sealed can be the deal breaker.

I ended up ordering and getting two SB4000's. Amazing speakers, lots of cash but lots of speaker build as well. I am happy thus far.

I'm a member of the SVS club because of Zeos. I purchased dual PC12-Plus's, because frankly, stepping DOWN a model from your PB13 video seemed the only sane thing to do :p Particularly when running a pair of them! They're STILL stupid......only I imagine slightly less so compared to their larger siblings. Oh, and THANK YOU for the power draw measurement!!! Now I'm slightly less worried about my home wiring handling my system.

Oh yeah, someone needs to make a definitive "Sub-20hz" list. My contribution to the list would be "Into The Badlands" Season 2, Episode 6, slightly before the 2:00 mark.

First time i had an adrenaline rush watching a speaker reivew. This was scary! Would you do a video of packing it down and dragging it down the stairs? The first svs 16 vid was hillarious.

One of the best modern wrecking balls, just turn this baby up and watch your house implode!

Check that earthquake machine out with this soundtrack you have in your living room. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIUlgMF7aCo It also can be used as heating duct cleaner.

that's a nice looking/expensive leaf blower ..

Were those stealth 8s?

I see the amazon sellers offer x2 SVS 16 for a minor discount! Its really a shame you couldnt borrow two of those beasts and run them together.

Zeos, what would be the perfect application for this monster? A church, a carnival, a move theater?

ZeosPantera

A small theater with only one. A large theater with two. Church would be an echo chamber.

I have one of these with the stealth 8s as the main LR speakers and I live in a shoebox apartment upstairs. Yep I am that dickhead neighbour. 3 sets of neighbours in 2 years. Hehehe. Im getting another one at the end of this year,

Zeos... I'm really struggling here. Returning to the states in October.. Going home theater in the basement. 30X20 with 7 foot ceiling. Projector on the fence between a few... but speakers im terribly back and forth on. I can't decide between psa mt110 bookshelves or svs ultras... can't decide between dual rythmik fvx15s or getting an open box svs ultra pb16. PSA also had good looking subs. Just knowing I could have two rythmiks instead of one SVS sub is frustraiting. The one thing making me lean towards the SVS is If my girl leaves me she can't steal it.

ZeosPantera

She could hire moving men. Then all your shit is gone in a flash. That is a huge room. But the low ceiling is going to make it loud down there. I think dual Rythmik and MT110's will work. Especially if you are doing mostly movies.

I appreciate the input! Do you think i'll need the Rythmik hp versions? Think the 210c would overpower the 110s?

Anonymous

Well that's fun... I think i'm stealing your spandex screen idea too. I just have to hope all my plans aren't shattered by a new product release... like optoma's uhd 65...
