Leaving off from where the last stream was cut! Just 3 shows. We watched Golden Kamuy Season 4 (Ep 1), Isekai Sword (Ep 2), and Eminence in Shadow (Ep 1). Isekai Sword's second episode was solid so I'll give ep 3 a watch and see how I feel about that.

it's actually interesting that you touched on a political topic, on that whole "velma" shit. and you ask "why can't you just make new black characters?" and this hits the nail of "woke" on the head! it's not that they're so against racism that they want to give black people more representation. they're just fucking racists that want to give black people "hand me downs", "second hand goods", and they pat themselves on the back for how generous they are for it. they will never make a great original black character. why? because they're incapable of thinking of black people as "just dudes" that you can easily make a character out of. they think of them as opportunities to 1-up one another on how inclusive they are....all the while *using* black people as pretty much fodder for political messages, while never actually thinking of them as just regular dudes. they just can't bring themselves to ignore somebody's skin color. it's overt racism, that disguises itself in good intentions, but is ultimately all for them, not for others. it's all just fodder for their "twitter clout". that's why hollywood is shite right now.

I’d agree if it was that simple. As easy as “make new characters” sound, it’s not. Disney and other major companies are going to reuse characters and stories over and over, that’s how they make money. Opening these roles to all races is a good step, because it gives representation to minority groups, especially for the intended audience, children and young adults. Most of which have never heard of these characters before. Random 30 year olds can argue on Twitter about it all day long, but it’s the children actually watching it and having their first experience with the characters that these companies aim at. There’s no negatives here, especially not for grown men and women, so arguing against it is a waste of time.
