Raves were a BIG thing in the 90s in the UK, even if you hadn't been to one, you knew someone who had, or someone who SAID they had. They gained a notoriety for being illegal and having plenty of drugs going on and the media got in a bit of a froth about them at the time. Most of it was just people trying to have a good time. There's been some neat documentaries made at the height of Rave culture, worth an internet hunt for some of BBC and ITV documentaries that were made at the time.
