Yes, I know, it could be 22, but I figure that since holidays are a thing it's best not to include them. That, and I remember working through Christmas for you guys, so yeah — I get a vacation :P

But that doesn't mean nothing happened during Easter. For example, I'm currently working my way through a very interesting writing course from the teaching company on screen writing. Screen writing isn't novel fiction, of course, but I often find it's the fields outside of traditional fiction writing that have the most valuable insights into how to improve the craft. I'm hoping to transfer many of these lessons to my own writing in the next few weeks and months.

Project D

I was quite pleased with the reception of the latest project D chapter. One lesson I took away from it was that doing longer chapters in pieces greatly helps my workflow and time management

I got about equal preference from people saying they either liked the weekly releases or didn't like them, so in the absence of massive negative back-lash, I'm probably going to keep doing the thing that helps me get the writing done :)

I also validated a theory I had about the structure of stories and proved to myself at least one way of how to end a story in a satisfying manner.

We've spent quite a long time on the events of the first part of the year, so we're going to speed up the pace from here on out, even if we've still got a fair way to go before the book's finale.

Project B

As some of you may have guessed, I'm currently working on Richard Struggle again. Specifically, I'm redoing my story outline to include new ideas, plot devices, and understanding, and editing the first four chapters to align them with the new version.

V.0.2 of Chapters 1,2,3, and 4 will be out on Sunday 15th April.

This includes some serious character and PoV changes, especially with Captain Anthony, as well as a brand new reworked introduction. This was one of the things that's been niggling at me for a while and I want to get it done before I continue the project.

I'm still getting to grips on how to work these longer original projects, but I'm really liking the way this one is going.

Anyway, see you soon!
