Hello my patrons,

I'm focused on planning the hentai comic storyboard lately, and after the overall storyline for You, the Last Radiant has settled, I'm yet to decide if I should stick with it and progress its storyboard.

I wanted this one to be a long and dramatic story, and it should not be changed. However, if I continue and make this a comic, we would encounter a problem.

You, the Last Radiant will have a long story introduction before it could reach the part where the sex scene begins. It could possibly take like 20 pages until we get to see the first nips and I can't promise the amount of pages I could do in a month at all, which you know, would that, such slow paced writing, be a good idea for the starter of this hentai comics project? Would that leave a poor first impression to some of you? Should I stop progressing this and rethink about what kind of stuffs my fans are looking forward to?

It's not like I'd completely follow what you guys suggest and end up creating things I don't want to do on my own, no. I also have MANY short one shot stories for hentai piled up in mind that I want to express (I also want to get to the sex scenes quickly, cuz you know, it's sex) and I don't mind stopping You, the Last Radiant for a while and come up with the new story then get back to this later on. I want to draw them all eventually anyway.

So here is the question, Do you prefer Long Dramatic Story or Short One Shot when it comes to hentais, or in this case, this first hentai comic project of mine.

Feel free to share your thoughts, opinions, and suggestions. I feel like I really need a good talk on this. I just have been too busy to think this through...

I prefer long dramatic story. I like romance dramatic story especially kiss scene.

fuya

Thank you :) Though I'm not really a Vanilla sweet story writer... I'm more famous on very dark story actually... You can expect the romance, but not a very sweet ending I must warn XD

I would prefer short one shot. I like to see how many characters design you can pull off. But it would be more hard for you, I assume :)

fuya

Both long story and one shot are hard, but in very different issues. Most people feel more at ease on making long stories, but it's harder to make long stories interesting and well done, while one shots are great for expressing ideas and "action" scenes, but a bit more challenging. Well that's just my opinion though. Thank you for your comment XD

I prefer long story

I sounds like the long story is the one you thrive to tell. If so, then it is the one you should tell! However, I also realize that it will be your first jump into the comic pit (is that a thing?), so you might want to start with one short comic as a sort of test project as you familiarize yourself with creating comics, and then move on to the more ambitious project. Well, that's my 2 cents anyway!

fuya

That's what I exactly have in mind! I wanted to tell a good long story, but hey it's my first time creating online hentai comics so I'm really afraid it wouldn't be a good idea to start with something big and it'd chain me for a big while. I actually have been making a lot of comics (hentai doujinshis actually) so I wouldn't say it's my first try on comics, but for something this promising, yeah it is :)

I'd say write one or two shorter comics and then work on the longer one. That way it can help people get behind what you're going for more because they have a preview of what the sex parts are like in comic form from you and don't have to be impatient, which will mean you can take as long as you want with build up (something I personally ADORE in hentai comics). This is of course an idealized reaction to this scenario, but I see it being the closest to reality one

Long story definitely gives you more options and space for developing characters, correlations between them and their influence on each other, and such things are very important, even in hentai story, because - hey - we're talkin' about sex [ kinda ;P ] - the more backstory and foreplay, the better. Right? Well, that's just my opinion. If you feel like it may actually be too big of a plan for now, maybe try testing the waters with the short ones, just like you mentioned. It's a good idea too - it should probably help you get a better idea about how to get around to the bigger project, making the story long, dramatic and interesting... on various levels. ;>

I would prefer a Long Dramatic Story, it would be more memorable than just one night stand lol But if in the middle shit do happen, you can end it up with very "bad" ending xP

start with one shot and Next to Long Dramatic Story \o/

fuya

This is a great suggestion. Yeah the reason why I'd want to start with the one shot is because that way I could show what I could do for the sex scenes first, while the long story one would have to wait until some readers might lose interest.

fuya

Thank you Zos, that's also what I have in mind right now. I'm starting to think... may be I could make them both together? Let me see if I have the available schedule.

fuya

Haha that's a good way of thinking this XD But hey, just want to let you know first, that I am not at all, a "happy ending" writer :P

I'd prefer a long dramatic story but only if u're up for it, it takes more narrative ressources from you. Otherwise, go for a short one shot and focus on the graphics :)

fuya

Thanks for the thought! Though I have to say I'm not going to fully potentialize the visual on this project. Of course I'll try my best to make them look nice, but not neat or detailed. I'm aiming more of the story progression.

Same as others that already give you opinions, you should start with the short one to see how it goes, to see how much time you use for storyboard and drawing. And when you get the hang of it, go for a long one :)

MGL139

Start short before going for a long one.

Shanin

If asking for my preference, then I'd vote for the long dramatic one. But I'll be honest with you. With the Patreon's system that customer could come and go in every month, the more optimal choice for you should be the short one shot instead. Perhaps, the best alternative here would be to start with a short prologue that's like a one shot story, and then, you could continue on with the long one after that. The short prologue would serve as a good teaser for those who are still in consideration of supporting or leaving.

one shot then long shot is well choice =w=

fuya

I'm kind of thinking I'll go with that plan for now :)

fuya

I think I might start developing the one shot story then, and while I'm progressing the one shot, I'd switch to start up the long story, making this a double writing. I think I could live with that without a rush. And yep what you explained here is pretty much how it's going at the moment!

Anonymous

Short One Shot so can get something to look at and also may help to get more patrons. But in the long run, I would stick with ''You, the Last Radiant'' for people that want a interesting story with some nice sex scenes.

fuya

I'll try to come up with the short one shot, while keep developing You, the Last Radiant then. I'm pretty much decided ;) Thanks!

Honestly, as someone who's done creative projects in the past, I'd suggest the shorter stuff to pace yourself out. Working on longer projects can drain you really quickly if you're not careful. Shorter projects in between them can keep you feeling like you've accomplished something.

Anonymous

Starting off short will likely be best way to build up/keep interest. Though, it would be awesome for the short stories to start building up a larger overall plot, common settings, and characters. That way you can lead into a larger story later without having to try to explain everything that happened.

fuya

Thank you for the experience sharing. Now that you say it, I really am planning to come up with the short one shot to experiment something out :)

fuya

I might come up with the non-related story to the long one when I'm making the one shot though. If it's one shot, I want it to end just like that. Well I'll need some time to think things out. May be the plan could change :) Thank you!

Erwin Doppler

I would say take your time so that it will be a great comic

Long! :)
