Hello friends, we meet again.

How are you all doing during the pandemic? The situation in my region is getting significantly better, but I'm still afraid for the second wind. Shit could still happen you know.

Changing the Lining

*See the image attached in the post; Left is the clean lining, Right is the rougher lining that I will change into*

This will be somewhat experimental, but I'm changing my method of doing lines to what I mentioned as "Rough" for now. It's actually not exactly rough in term of process wise, just the visual of it.

My recent batches of pieces kind of proved that people tends to favor the more rough-sketch-ish kind of lining more on my case. May be because he 100% clean line makes my works look a bit too much tryhard? I don't know, but honestly I personally enjoy the rougher linearts more anyway so I'd like to give it a try. It still takes a lot of time, just a little less than the neat lining method. May be if this is a success, it will save me some working time.

If it doesn't work and is proven to be less popular later on, I can always just change it back. It won't make much different if you don't do the 200% zoom anyway. Most famous digital artists do rough lining like this in their full scale. I don't know why I've been sticking to the neat lining all this time.

My Wacom Bamboo Broke

*Photo of the Wacom Bamboo attached*

So... The old pen tablet I've been using for 10 years has finally completely broken down. It's the Wacom Bamboo that Wacom stopped producing for quite a while.

This little guy has been with me since forever. He's the unsung hero that carried me through my whole serious art career. He helped me created thousands of drawings. I will forever treasure his legacy. He only had 512 pen pressure levels but he outdone himself for quite a lot.

I got a new pen tablet which is Wacom Intuos Pro S. I still have to take some time getting used to it. It has 8192 pen pressure levels so that should be an improvement!

Zaku II in Minecraft

*Screenshot attached*

Ok this is just something silly I did while I was waiting for the new pen tablet to arrive. I made a Zaku II from Gundam in Minecraft using the actual Zaku II scale which is 18 blocks (Zaku II is 17.5 meters tall in Gundam universe and 1 Minecraft block is 1 meter tall)

I've seen a lot of people making mobile suits and giant robots in Minecraft without caring about the actual scaling so it's a lot easier that way if you just don't have to care about the height limitation at all. This is all I could do within the 18 blocks height. It's really awkward and chunky looking but it's cute. It reminds me once again that mobile suits in Gundam are actually really really not big at all.

FFVII Remake | Drawing Tifa

I did buy FFVIIR but still got no time to play it... I've been watching various streamers playing it though, mainly Maximillian Dood.

And that said, I promised everyone ages ago that once this game comes out for real, I'm going to draw Tifa. So the next batch (September 2018) is going to include Tifa as my own choice of selection.

Reading One Piece

So I've been reading One Piece manga! I played One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 (btw best musou game I could say, coming from me being a musou freak) and it inspired me to catch up with reading One Piece.

I stopped reading it somewhere during the Skypiea arc which was over 10 years ago and I've now caught up with the latest manga chapter. I know I'm crazy. One Piece is awesome.

Watching Kimetsu no Yaiba / Demon Slayer

Since it's on Netflix in my region now and my gf likes it a lot, I now started watching Demon Slayer.

The visual is super stunning as expected from ufotable. The pacing and direction is also pretty cringey as expected from ufotable. I'm enjoying the pros of this show enough that I can overlook the cons. On episode 8 so far so good.

That will be it for this blog entry and announcement. Ya'll stay safe inside!

I like the rougher lineart. Your art always makes the girls looks very "soft", so the relatively softer lineart will probably just enhance that :)

Awesome to hear you have caught up with One Piece! It is most certainly an amazing ride. I also love your rough lineart as well!
