Hey everyone.

It's a blog update. There's a lot of variety I want to talk about so I label it a newsletter. I kinda have fun and want to do it in this format if it works.

Pixel Sprites

So I had a minor art block and decided to do something different for fun. I made these pixel sprites of the July 2018 batch's reward (BB, Bloomers Nero, and Honolulu) with classic FF style sprites because I like it.

What do you think? If they look good I will try to make more for the future batches because it's fun and didn't take much time at all.

Gundam

I have quite a few gundam series that I've been sleeping on for a while and I recently just went back and finished watching Gundam IBO, Origin, and Unicorn. I also continued watching Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise and had to drop it because I couldn't stand how bad it is.

I love the hell out of IBO and Origin though. Best experience I've had in a while. Unicorn is alright. I don't like Banagher as a character at all and the early episodes are absolutely rushed but the animation is phenomenal and I can't wait for Hathaway's Flash. I still have to go back and rewatch 0079 and finish ZZ sometimes.

Gunpla

And by being back to watching gundams again I've been spending some non drawing spare time with gunpla kits! I find it an amazing way to inspire myself to draw stuffs, too by rewarding myself with a few hours of gunpla making every time I progress enough on the drawings. It's the first time I tried doing proper lining on the gunplas. I couldn't find a time to top-coat them though.

I attached the photos of my new The-O and R-Jarja here within this post. I know there are some gunpla experts here somewhere.

Arknights

I've started playing Arknights and it's such a great game. I've always been a fan of Tower Defense game and this is a cool spin on it. The game is not that grind heavy or predatory gacha roll wise and the character designs and the UI interface of this game is so neat looking you can definitely tell the art director is very talented. I love it when games do that.

I've attached a screencap of my current team too. The another reason I stick with this game is that my gf pulled Siege + Silverash for me in the first 10 free rolls. She has a pair of gacha goddess hands.

Granblue Fantasy Versus

GBFV is out and I'm not playing it. I think 11 characters roster is kind of a joke seeing it's game funded by a mega billionaire company like Cygames from a franchise with 100+ fan favorite characters so I'm willing to wait a bit and buy the GBFV XXXrd Omega Grand Revelator Finale or whatever version it comes out next with decent roster.

Despite all that the game looks super fun and seeing Western fans' reaction to Ladiva is hilarious. I can't wait for the drop of Cagliostro and see them exploding on the HE IS TRANS train. Seriously tho, why isn't he revealed as a DLC character yet? Have they forgot how many times he won the fan favorite poll?

Also this year's EVO is gonna be hella lit.

And that will be it for this blog. Please leave your comment down below if you care that much and read any of these. Would love to communicate more with you guys!

Have a great day people.

It's funny how you mention the character roster is weak because every single video I've seen on how small it is, everyone seems to say how character balanced it is. Coming from a person who has zero knowledge of GB, I'm perfectly fine with this amount and know that more will be added down the line. Look at DBFZ and SFV. They had a tiny selection and look at what they are up to now.

It is a quality starting roster I agree and it is balanced but that's also because they're being very safe about it. There are like 5 shotos in there and almost everyone has fireball of some sort. It's cool but knowing the potential the GBF character pool is, they definitely could do much much better. Comparison for DBFZ and SFV aren't very fair I think. Dragon Ball only have just a handful amount of character pool they could go with (hence the bazillion Gokus in there and UI Goku incoming) and SFV is a horribly rushed job made by almost-bankrupted Capcom at the time. GBFV is funded by a multimillionaire company who's been wanting to push GBF to a bigger stage as a franchise. I just wish they gave more of what they have. 11 characters in a AAA fighting game in 2020 is a little sad. But the game is fun and the amount of content is pretty justified. I just don't care about the RPG mode and wish that mode is cut if it means we get like 4-5 more characters at launch.

DIO

The-O, damn good choice. Don't know if you ever played Super Robot Taisen/Wars Z for Ps2 but I finished it again recently and the animation they've done for The-O in it were marvelous. https://youtu.be/jlo9q12LmqA

Wow those animations are sexy af. The last time I played SRW was back in PS1 era. I got lost and out of touch from SRW somewhere along the way mainly because I don't know most of the added franchises in later installations and you could only have fun with Mazinger and Getters repeatedly for only how many times. I'm more of a G gen guy tho. Played the hell out of most G Generation titles but haven't played Cross Ray yet.

DIO

Yeah, I'm a big fan of mecha show so I always enjoyed SRW more than the G Gen. Sadly I think SRW Z series (srw z ps2,srw z2.1/2.2 psp and srt z3.1/3.2 psvita/ps3) was the peak for me in term of animation direction and choice of licence. I still play the recent episode for PS4 but it's not the same, animation's always better, but that's all and game challenge is non-existent.

Yeah the first SRW game I played was SRW 3rd back in the SNES and idk if I was just a dumb kid but that game was impossible without walkthrough/hard guide. They definitely lowered the difficulties even in PS1 games. I love G Gen cuz I'm a big fan of antagonist grunt units and I have freedom to use whatever in G Gen meanwhile in SRW I have to be stuck using exclusively good guys most of the time. If SRW allows more customization I might get back to it.
