First of all, this post is for patrons only.
So I got this email from the support team which I think it is legit as you see, it's an email from the patreon.zendesk.com itself.
Which is quite interesting... Since I launched my Patreon campaign back in August 2015, I have been posting vast amount of NSFW contents as public and I have never got a notification like this, and I have been marking my Patreon as Adult Content so if that doesn't do anything, what is the point?
As of this point, too, I'm seeing various other popular NSFW artists posting straight NSFW contents without censorship as public and they didn't seem to get in troubles from this.
It's not affecting me much though, as from now on, I'd just post previews of finished arts with censorships on them and link to my Pixiv, Tumblr or anything else to show the NSFW previews. That's not gonna hurt.
The thing is, why me, and why now after all this time? Is this a sign of something terrible? I have to go back and check ALL the posts I posted as public and see if which one of them contained adult content, within 48 hours? Seriously? That would require 2 weeks, not 2 days... I already removed some of the NSFW images on the Profile page and changed the recent public posts containing NSFW previews to Patrons Only though.
I don't mind doing all that if that's the case, but I want to know the reasons behind this. I have replied to the email asking them for confirmation and explanation, but got no response after 17 hours passed :-/ I want to know if Patreon is changing (or is forced) into a new direction which does not support creators making NSFW works. If that's the case, then I will be preparing ahead for plans to handle the future changes.
Do not worry though ya'll. This is not going to affect any of the rewards in any sort of way as long as it's just this level. I'm just super curious what's going on, and I have replied to them that I will have to inform this to all my supporters as it's a big thing but since they didn't answer, I supposed it's nothing wrong to do so.
Leave your thoughts on this in the comment. Don't be harsh on the support team though. They worked their asses out and I'm pretty sure they want as fewest problems as possible going on too. It's just that this email got me in deep thinking mode and I want to hear more opinions.
Also, if you are a creator yourself, did you get this email? Or do you know anyone that got this kind of message? Please do tell.
