Apology for Radio Silence (Patreon)
Content
Hey everybody.
I wanted to apologize for not posting as often as I used to while not really explaining why.
To be more transparent, there was a lot of "busywork" that needed to be done these first couple weeks of the month. Post-holiday stuff and life stuff played a factor, but the main time sink was captioning images and making sure all of the sites I post to have the proper images.
Captioning the Koakuma story took me days, but now that I've become more familiar with photoshop it shouldn't take me more than 8-10 hours per sequence going forward. The Paddled into Pinkness story took me probably 12+ hours to caption, but a lot of that was just writer's block and learning how to edit fonts/font color quickly. Getting rid of text bubbles was a great move too IMO.
I don't consider myself a true artist or writer, but I do want the story to be immersive/believable enough to keep you engaged to the story while not being too cliche. I do fall back on cliches though, and I think I wrote too much for that last story. Like, I don't think every image even needs to be captioned, but sandwiching uncaptioned lewd scene images between captioned images just feels... odd.
Next time though (club probably) maybe I'll just have more images only containing sound effects and moans/groans. I don't think you need to have a constant update on what the main character is thinking, but I ended up writing that anyways in the paddled story. Any writing opinions are greatly appreciated if you have any good insights.
The other time sink was getting a DLsite circle and PixivFanbox setup.
You guys come first of course, but I really want to reach out to more people because I'm having money troubles atm and I think that I could probably sell some copies of the two books I made if I try hard enough. I really want to know going forward if DLsite will even host AI stuff, as my works are still under review despite having uploaded Failure of a Brother to the site 9 days ago.
Updating Pixiv was annoying as everything had to be censored an the image tags have to be in japanese. I'm finishing updating the Pixiv later today.
Deviantart continues to be my main source of new Patrons, and I've been a bit lagging in my posts over there, but the point is: there's a lot of busywork that needs to be done with these other sites.
Going forward, once all this stuff is settled in the next couple days, I can start posting new stuff more in earnest. While it might not match the sheer quantity I posted last month, it should come close and the quality is much higher I believe.
