Lena Oxton, known by her call sign Tracer, is a British hero in the world of Overwatch. Prior to her transformation into a time-jumping adventurer, Lena was a brilliant pilot and the youngest person to have ever been inducted into Overwatch's experimental flight program.
During a mission involving a test flight of a teleportation fighter, Lena's aircraft malfunctioned, leaving her "chronal disassociation": her molecules were scattered across time. With the help of Overwatch's chief scientist, Winston, and a special chronal accelerator, Lena was able to anchor herself to the present, but she became "unstuck in time," existing as a living ghost.
Thanks to her chronal accelerator, Tracer gained the ability to manipulate time, enabling her to blink short distances, rewind time to undo mistakes, and even recall to a previous location. These newfound abilities transformed her into one of Overwatch's most agile and elusive agents.
Tracer's bubbly personality and optimism made her a beloved member of the team, even in the face of adversity. Her signature catchphrase, "Cheers, love! The cavalry's here!" became synonymous with her spirited approach to challenges. She was known for her close friendship with pilot Emily, demonstrating the diversity and inclusiveness of the Overwatch world.
