Are we feeling nervous for the boys despite knowing that they obviously end up debuting?? Yes, yes we are.

i love all your thoughts on this episode, watched this years ago and every time someone reacts to this i can see the fear are nervousness for the kids despite knowing where they are now. I understand JYP point of view in that he is successful and wants every group he takes on to do well but he has to be strict to harden them up for the industry but i am not a fan of the way he words things at all. Seeing the kids so young and trying their best to just debut is nostalgic for me and i loved your reaction to them. Chan being "cold" is still funny to me because he's being there 7 years, worked with groups that have been successful and seen friends leave so he has to be professional and be a leader now and make sure his kids succeed so i love your comments on that. Thank you again and cant wait for the rest of your reactions

Oh we're really getting into the pain now 😭 And I'm definitely with you guys on this, sure JYP has been doing this for a long time etc etc but the way he handles feedback could NOT be me. As for the Hellevator key, I'm not 100% sure but I don't think Chan really adjusted it, and knowing that for their debut a few months after this show he went even higher for District 9 is hilarious to me, and VERY skz! The boys themselves have talked more in-depth about the pressure Chan was under during this show, and how Chan feels like he was so harsh on them, and how he felt like he had to be that way to get through it :( they really drop all the SKZ Lore during 2 kids room, which I'm sure you guys have on your list but when I tell you that I can't recommend it enough...you learn the most bizarre things on that show 😭 (It's also probably best watched by pairing and then by year, if you do!) On that note, I've realized that one of the most fascinating parts of watching this back again with you guys is seeing how the friendships between them at this stage are and how they progress: you have jisung and hyunjin who've gone from fighting to being in the middle of the politest cold war of all time, but on the other hand changbin/hyunjin/seungmin have clearly been vibing for ages, chan and lix are bonded through their shared aussie-ness, innie and jisung have been roommates for a while and are so comfortable, 3racha will only get more family-coded as time goes by, and lee know and jisung have already started settling into their soulmate-isms which is funny considering this was what, a month after lee know joined their team?? I'm only really able to rewatch this because watching with you guys feels like it'll make me less emotional (false) but the group bonding bits are also what makes this most enjoyable when I'm not crying!

your name here

They did not self choreograph although Lee Know was already taking on dance leader duties. Old rumors were that LK choreographed because he was seen cleaning choreo. The officially credited choreographers were the JYP Performance Directing Lab (Director: Na Taehoon), Ryu.D of Auspicious Crew, Ali Lee, and Chris Martin.

surem

They did not change the key for Hellevator, and District 9 is actually even higher, which is hilarious.

This is my third time watching this show (second time with a reactor) and I still get the chills when Chan played hellevator track and hearing their group name. They did a special stage for hellevator before they debuted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDhUiQBI_xw maybe watch it after finishing the show. They were such babies.

So,I don't like JYP because of how he was to other groups as well. Like when GOT7 was still in the company,JB,the leader, was on a show where he showed how he composed songs and he was showing them to JYP and he only listened to like a few seconds of each tracks and already was like no,i don't like it. I'm not saying he has to like his songs but can you really decide it with just the first seconds ? Obviously,i'm not a producer or anything like him but well. He just rubs me the wrong way. Also other members of GOT7 said how JYP would show a lot of favoritism to Suzy (she was in miss A but then changed to being a actress) compared to the guys. So I'm not surprised that like a lot leave JYP (for example Taecyeon from 2PM is still with the group but just not in the company anymore)

Also yes,as you said,Bangchan must be very stressed, not only because they're being evaluated by JYP but since JYP said he might eliminate some people,it's even more stressing because they all want to debut together as a team. I hate when they do this in those shows, like the same happened with iKON ; they were a team of 6 from another survival show (where Winner won) but YG made them go through another one where he said the previous leader and Bobby were the only ones sure to debut and the others had to try and win their places + he added three other trainees. In the end he wanted to debut 5 more members but obviously we were mad because we wanted all the 6 to debut together. At the end,the 6 original + Chanwoo debuted together so we were happy but it was stressful

This is my 3rd time watching this. First time with reactors and i am loving it. Chan had so much faith in his kids from the very beginning. He would never produce a song they couldn't sing. That is one of the many things that makes this group different. JYP only really knows them from the results he sees at showcases and from missions he gives them. Chan has worked with 3racha before the show and hand picked all the boys for a reason. He was in classes with them. He lives with them by the point they are making Hellevator. Chan knows his kids and would never put them through anything they couldn't handle. He has protected them ( as soon as the song and key was questioned, chan took full responsibility for it) but also pushed them and encourages them to believe in themselves.

I think there is a reason why many mistake their name as "Stressed Kids" haha. I just can't imagine the pressure they were all under. The Coke sponsorship always cracks me up. Especially as the series goes on, and I think their "acting" was tired, because in some of the scenes I swear they despise the drink haha (though some of them do enjoy a Coke Zero here and there). It's just funny to watch the blatant advertisement compared to the random duct tape to hide a clearly visible brand name lol. Also if you ever get a chance, there is a short compilation somewhere of Han from this show to current day just nailing the "I'm on a Hellevator" line and just the improvement of his vocals.. he was excellent then. He is flawless now (in my opinion).

I'm re-watching this again, and I think JYP is a liar ! He said in that first meeting with the boys that he wasn't going to evaluate them singly, but as a group. But then goes ahead and still evaluates them singly - granted while performing in a group, but I thought it was the group as a whole?! BAH! edit to add: re-watching your reaction to it again.. possibly my 3rd or 4th time now. lol ;D
