As we approach the end of Interface, I realize how much there is left to do. Paintings for the album art, graphic design for the CDs, Blu-Rays, etc. So before starting the animation I have dedicated the past few weeks to cleaning up the music, getting it ready for mastering - and finishing off the album art. This painting above is for the back side of the Part II sound track. The front side is still being worked on, but it will be Mischief in his quantum state. It takes about a half a year for Vinyls to get made on my small scale, so I need to get this stuff done first before working on the final episode. Patreon discounts will be posted when all this stuff is ready.

The first Episode of Interface came out in December of 2017. That's three and a half years ago! Never had I dedicated myself to a long term project such as this. And for all you here, thank you so much for your commitment too.

I suppose this series was made during the best possible time, during a pandemic where I have an excuse to not leave the house. Animation on Youtube can be a very isolating thing, and not necessarily something I want to spending the rest of my life alone doing. Yet-

There have been opportunities to shop ideas to studios but I have decided to turn them down after much consideration. What we would be giving up ultimately, is creative control, and that is the most important thing.

So, Later this summer/fall I will be taking the plunge and investing in an office work space. Possibly bringing on a junior animator to help me part time. If it works, then it will grow from there. It will be the seed to start a real animation studio. If it works, than great, if it doesn't, well... nothing ventured, nothing gained.

It may be a while before Episode 24 is released. But I am working on a strange "short" where a certain bald child gets launched out of a trebuchet and dies of mesothelioma. I feel like it's important that the channel has a mix of dramatic artistry and bizarre shitposts to stay grounded. Anyways. That's it for now!

You are my favorite animator, storyteller, and musician. I would love to see big projects from Umami Studios someday. Take your time my man, quality stuff all around ❤️

Love the idea of trying to get your own studio off the ground. Too often studio meddling has killed projects. Whatever you make good or bad at least will be your vision.
