Hello everyone 😍

I'm SO happy to share with you today the Millwork set for the Dark Academia (2) in collaboration with the never run out of ideas and talented builder KateSimblr. As soon as I'll finish my 3D/CC part, she will come with a new Dark Academia-themed build which will be going to blow our minds 😱

This millwork set is surely the set I have spent the most of time on since I'm creating my own CC 😂 It took more than 200 hours of work to complete 😱 I wish in project Rene they will give us an easy tool for measurements in-game 🙏🙏🙏

It's been a while now since I wanted my own fully modular millwork set with crown mouldings, baseboards, high and short wainscotings which will work for any kind of room shapes but I never had the opportunity before to spend so much time on something like that. I hope some of you will appreciate this day has finally arrived! 🤞

Initially, only the "wainscoting 1" you can see above with 9 alpha textures was planned, but KateSimblr and I were frustrated to see holes on walls or overlappings. That is how we decided to add an extra month to our collab for me to be able to figure out how many new meshes we'll need, their size, and how to create them. And while we're at it, a 51 plain colors and 28 maxis match swatches versions are planned for later.

The set is composed of 19 new meshes for a total of 171 swatches as follows:

• 3 crown moulding meshes of 1 tile wide: one to use on simple walls, one for left corners, and another for right corners. You can overlap them to create a 1/2 tile-wide version if needed, we can hardly see it on the textures.
• 3 baseboard meshes of 1 tile wide: one to use on simple walls, one for left corners, and another for right corners. You can overlap them to create a 1/2 tile-wide version if needed, we can hardly see it on the textures.
• 3 high wainscoting meshes of 1 tile wide: one to use on simple walls, one for left corners, and another for right corners.
• 3 high wainscoting meshes of 1/2 tile wide: one to use on simple walls, one for left corners, and another for right corners.
• 3 matching short wainscoting meshes of 1 tile wide: one to use on simple walls, one for left corners, and another for right corners. Can be used under a window for example in combination with the high version.
• 3 matching short wainscoting meshes of 1/2 tile wide: one to use on simple walls, one for left corners, and another for right corners. Can be used under a window for example in combination with the high version.
• 1 matching column mesh: can be used wherever you want to fill holes between wainscoting and a door for example (playtested) or to add details

The set had been playtested on all shapes we thought about, on curved walls too, and in live mode. Your build will still be functional for your Sim.  While the result is not perfect on curved walls, obviously as it wasn't meant for that, we can still have a good-looking result with a bit of patience.
