Something that somehow took until yesterday to hit me in the face - I've been quite focusing on making things Higher Quality in so far as trying to maintain that 60fps/1920x1080 gold standard, which I'm able to do thanks to render farming.

However, I've also really noticed that the #1 complaint I've seen (besides maybe ridiculous bulges) is that  my animations are incredibly short - They're generally only a single second loop.

So it hit me:

In order to turn things from 24fps to 60fps, there has to be 2.5x as many frames(24x2.5=60)

When something is then also made into 1920x1080/FullHD, each frame then has 2.25x as many pixels ([1920*1080]/[1280*720]=2.25)

This means that its roughly 5.5 times as much as the same animation in 24fps/1280x720

If I were to do everything in "HD"(720) at 24fps, I would be able to do much longer animations for roughly the same price.

tl;dr;

Would you guys prefer longer animations or larger, smoother animations?

I prefer longer

I've really enjoyed your animations so far, but I think it would be interesting to see some longer ones.

The Big Kachowski

well it really depends on what's going on, i'm good for either Rocheste.

rochestedorm

What would it depend on? Neutral on most, but which types would you prefer longer and which bigger?

I'm with the few above, longer is preferable to super high quality.

MisterMaus

I generally prefer longer.

MendezSFM

I don't need super high resolution and frame rate either. Longer animations would definitely be great.

hentailover76

Yeah, I would like longer better. :)

ANIMENIAC

Sorry but I prefer 1080p.

gobbler

i find that unless you have really high detailed models. 1080 isnt much different from 720. but i can say that 60 fps over 24 fps does make a huge difference. the smoothness of 60fps make animations look way more natural then 24 where it looks jerky. so 720 at 60 fps would be my idea.

I don't know which is better for now. So I want to watch samples for comparison: Between 1080p and HD, and between 60fps and 24fps.
