Hey everyone,

With RETRY: Elden Ring | Part One concluding today, we wanted to give you an update on what you can expect from RKG next.

Before we get onto that, some of you might be wondering why our Elden Ring series is being split up into three parts in the first place. We spoke about this back in July, but we wanted to use this post to expand on why why it benefits RKG and ultimately you, our audience.

Elden Ring is massive. It’s far larger than any game we’ve ever played before, which presents some new challenges for us. We want to make the best long-form Let’s Plays in the world.  To achieve that, we believe in proper planning, editing, and post-production – and this just takes time, especially when the game you’re playing is both huge and challenging.

So breaking Elden Ring into parts (pun intended) has several advantages…

  1. Time for us to reflect on how it’s going and improve how we make it. While production is rolling, and the next episode’s deadline looming, it’s very difficult to reflect and make changes that could improve the overall project. Our focus is on delivering that next episode, and we don’t want to jeopardise that in any way. Now we have time and perspective to make some improvements, without worrying about upsetting our ability to deliver next week’s episode. These changes will make production even smoother heading into Part Two.
  2. This also applies to the Patreon and all aspects of what we do, not just RETRY. Ensuring we deliver the best experience for you is the most important thing to us, and we just need a little time to focus on that. Since July last year, all of our focus has gone into RETRY: Elden Ring.
  3. A slight break from The Lands Between for us. The game is gigantic and we don’t want to get burnt out on it. This means when we sit down to film the next part of our adventure, we’ll have had time to reflect on the story and be as excited as you are to get back to it. This ensures you get the best of us. We take care of our equipment and need to do the same with ourselves.
  4. We also love the idea of it being a trilogy in terms of presentation. If Elden Ring is Miyazaki’s fantasy epic, this is ours. We want this to feel like a great adventure. So when we approach Part 3 it feels like a dramatic culmination to a journey we’ve all been on together.

So when will RETRY: Elden Ring | Part Two begin?

You’ll be happy to know, the wait won’t be too long!

We have a date we’re working to, but things could obviously change. At the moment we’re pretty confident it will be early Summer.

In the coming months, when we lock it in, we’ll start talking more definitely about Aunty Finchy’s return.

So what’s happening until then?

We’ve got a brand new series all ready to go. SPOOKIES: Dead Space 2 will debut on Saturday, 24th February on YouTube, and new episodes will enter into Early Access every week for patrons on our Extra Features tier.

What’s happening to Elden Ring companion content like Roundtable Hold and Lore MasterClass?

Both Roundtable Hold and Lore MasterClass will also take short breaks while the main show is away, but not just yet.

The Roundtable Hold: End of Part One Quiz – testing how much Gav and Rory learned over the last 30 weeks – will be live on Sunday, February 11th, while Krupa will be delivering his final Lore MasterClass lecture on the theme of Rot towards the end of February.

What about other RKG Patreon rewards?

Everything else is business as usual. Shield Up and Producer Streams will run as normal. New episodes of SPOOKIES: Dead Space 2 will drop every Saturday. We also have some exciting Extra Features in the pipeline, too.

We’re not going anywhere. We’re just devoting some time to prepping RETRY: Elden Ring | Part Two and continuing our pledge of making the best long-form Let’s Plays in the world for you.

RKG x

Excited! Bloody loving Elden Ring so far, but also love the other let's plays you do (Resi, Dead Space, Spookies etc). This is the perfect balance.

I gotta be honest, I don't really like the breaking into parts. You run the risk of people losing interest. You are already so late with playing this game. I love you guys and the content you make, but I'm not a huge fan of splitting it up like this. Regardless I'll enjoy it when it does eventually come.
