On March 14th, 2016, we published the very first episode of Prepare To Try while we were working at IGN.

Seven years later we’re building a bespoke studio and gearing up for our biggest-ever adventure in Retry: Elden Ring. But before moving forward, we wanted to look back and celebrate the journey so far.

Across 161 episodes, we’ve collected so many incredible memories playing the works of FromSoft and Lazy Michael Zaki. ‘Finchy’ – a throwaway gag in the very first episode – now refers to an ever-expanding family of characters that have fully taken on a life of their own. Back in 2016, we never would have dreamt people across the world would get tattoos, cosplay as Froggy, make their own Finchy toys, or name their pets after him. But that’s what happened and so much more.

To celebrate the show, and the community that grew around it, we wanted to create something really special – a piece of art that brought all of these adventures to life. So we decided to throw an imaginative wrap party for the show in Firelink Shrine and invite all of our favourite characters to come celebrate with us. We imagined Lautrec would probably ice Powers, Artorias could keep an eye on Coco and Ramen for us, and for some inexplicable reason, Ornstein and Smough wouldn’t be on the guest list…

We had a lot of ideas, and drew on a secretive survey we sent out to the community years ago. To bring it all to life, we needed to work with a fantastic artist. Luckily we know André Lima Araújo. Not only is his style perfect for this type of piece, he worked on the official Bloodborne comic and actually watches our show. We worked closely together to thread dozens of references to the show and the games throughout the piece. And André hasn’t just somehow found a place for all of these moments, he’s made it look beautiful too. This is also thanks to the talented colorist Chris O'Halloran, whose work has really brought the piece to life.

We’re immensely proud of this piece and what it represents. We’ve been working on it since late 2020 but we wanted to wait for the right moment, which feels like now – right before we head off on our most ambitious adventure and usher in the next age of RKG.

Lastly, we want to say ‘thank you’. Not only for supporting what we make and us, as people, across the last seven years but for building a supportive and inclusive community around us. It’s the thing we’re most proud of, and it was only possible because of you.

We hope you love it as much as we do.

About the Print

To showcase the amazing work of André and Chris, we aren’t releasing this as a glossy poster but a high-quality Giclée print on Hahnemühle Photorag, an archival art paper. It has a super matte finish with even colours and excellent detail.

It’d look at home in the Louvre or on the wall of your downstairs toilet. Up to you really.

The Lost FinchyFest is available in three different sizes. This print comes without a frame or mount.

All the profits from the print will be invested into making RKG even better. Supporting us directly allows us to create with complete freedom.

The store closes at midnight on Friday, March 31st.

Love it. If the custom tax isn't both ridiculously expensive and ambiguous here in Indonesia, I will buy this in a heartbeat. I will always support you slugs regularly every month though. cheers from Jakarta!

Mark Deehan

Love it; bought it.

Just need to say that Krupa doing a look to camera is perfect

Steve Wood

Excellent, looking forward.

Would love to see a fully annotated breakdown of this. Bit spendy with DHL but how can you say no

Didn’t expect this to arrive so quick but I’ve already got mine and it somehow looks 100x better in person

I'm just here to say that it was an absolute pleasure to work with The Boys on this one, both as a slug and as an overall fan of the quality of their work.

Man, this is so great. I wish I could get it, but shipping to America is as much as the item itself. Would be an instabuy if I could afford it.

Oh boy this is epic but sadly the smallest size print is almost $200 AUD to ship to Australia :( I am in need of a scheme!

Steve Wood

Man, you weren't lying about the shipping. I ordered five days ago and it's already here in NYC. It's gorgeous!

Is this going to be available to buy again at a later date? Getting it too Australia is from $200 to $300 which isn't in my budget right now 😅 is it only a limited time thing?

Yeah this shipping and exchange rate is insane (I know the lads can't help any of that). I'd love to purchase a digital copy of the largest one and get it printed locally.
