RKG Live

When we started RKG we’d never really livestreamed as a team, and we’ve learned a lot.

We think the best streams we’ve done are the ones where there’s been a bigger occasion – Halloween, Dumble Finchy, or E3 – or when the game’s been just on in the background, like Fortnite, and we’ve got to hang out with you properly and really focus on the chat.

We’re taking what we learned into the second year of RKG Live.

We’ll no longer be streaming at the same time every week to free us up to do more interesting things with RKG Live. We’ll still be streaming regularly – at least twice a month – but now for longer and with a bit more production.

So what can you expect?

Well, things like a full-on Klask tournament with us three and some of our friends. Long streams where we all play as a team. And if there’s a big event, like the announcement of the PS5, we’ll be streaming that too with live commentary.

We feel like this will be more fun and make for more memorable streams. It gives us more freedom to create a more interesting and fun version of RKG Live.

RKG Producer Stream

Last year we used to offer an additional 30 minutes of RKG Live for Producers on Crowdcast. We had loads of fun hanging out with you, and playing games like Telltale’s Jurassic Park all the way through (don’t mention the puzzles). But we felt like we could improve this, too.

This year we’ll be livestreaming exclusively for Producers twice per month. But streams will now be two-hours-long and yes, they’ll now be hosted over on YouTube. While Crowdcast offered great integration with Patreon, we’ve listened to the feedback of our Producers and decided the YouTube experience is far better whether you’re watching live or catching up on-demand.

Livestream Schedule

At the end of each month, we’ll post a schedule of livestreams for the coming month. We’ll have those events listed on YouTube, allowing you plenty of notice should you want to watch live.

Here’s what’s coming up in January...

Any questions, let us know down below!

Definitely seems like a better structure (although I enjoyed what you guys were already doing regarding livestreams!) Congrats on 1 year and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Just when I thought you boys couldn’t get any cooler, you go and do something like this.....and TOTALLY outdo yourselves! Very cool fellas, 2020 is looking great.

Love this. I would ask if there is any chance of setting up a community calendar for everyone to subscribe to get personal reminders and so on.

I think it's a great idea to make the livestreams feel more different to a standard episode. You can do some unique things with it. Gutted i'll miss the 1st birthday one but my family were visiting and their flight home tonight has just been cancelled so I'll have to catch up on it tomorrow. Enjoy!

You guys are amazing. Thank you for consistently working to bring us a lovely experience. And on a personal note I’m glad you’re changing the format to give yourselves the flexibility to enjoy and express yourselves more. That will surely translate to our experience as viewers as well. Happy New Year, boys!

Good idea! Like how you're not necessarily sacrificing anything but, also changing things up (of that makes sense). I'm interested and excited for the 2nd year boys!

The events should be publicly listed on our YouTube channel, so you can register there to get notifications of when they're going live!

Yeah, we're pleased it comes across like that. That's how it's intended. It's not about 'losing' streams or anything, but making better ones that you might also want to rewatch rather than ephemeral content. We're not dedicated streamers, so we want to add a bit more of RKG into that experience.

All lovely, I hope to bump back up to producer soon! 🙌☀️

This seems like a lovely way of making things more suited to the content you want to create, I love it. Was wondering how participation will work, as in when will we know which console is used and how can you join in?

Is there any chance you guys will be planning/able to upload the previous producer pos-show streams to YouTube for ease of access?

Great stuff lads. If I binge the outlast videos now will I have to go through an RKG drought in Feb?

rkg

Hey Caleb, it's coming. We'll keep Crowdcast open for another month, but we're busy downloading that archive and getting it all prepped on YouTube. We'll then distribute a mega list and a playlist with all those in it.

rkg

You'll have new Retry videos going up on YouTube, and if you're still an Early Access patron, you'll get access to another new show to binge.
