Patreon Goals, Covid, & Updates (Patreon)

Attention Institute Personnel!

I wanted to provide a quick update on our Patreon goals. As many of you have noticed, we’ve reached our final goal, which promised to put a Templin Institute short film into production. We’ve run into a few hurdles with this. The first being that in order to produce a film and ensure a level of quality, we would need to consistently meet this goal on Patreon, which until recently hasn’t always been the case. The second is that the idea of a short film was largely the brainchild of the Templin Institute’s former partner, who promised some resources that were never elaborated upon before her departure. And lastly, Covid has once increased the difficultly again, especially for a smaller team like ours.

So, while I still hope to deliver this short film, there is still a high degree of uncertainty surrounding it. As soon as we’re able to make a final decision either way, we’ll be providing further updates and possibly switching up that final goal.

What we’ve been doing instead in the meantime, and something that probably should have been communicated far earlier, is directing Patreon funds to commission artwork. This includes the numerous paintings used in Stellaris Invicta Season II, Star Wars Reimagined, and a few other as of yet unannounced projects. Hopefully these have brought the worlds of the Templin Institute to life as immersively as any film.
