Hello fellow translators,

Have you ever wished to have a free automatic machine translator whose translation quality is like a paid service.

Recently there is a new project to create an offline automatic machine translator using machine learning technology. This translator is trained with millions of sentences drawn from visual novels and other works of modern Japanese literature. The goal is to defeat DeepL.

If this project is successful, then we will have a life-time free offline machine translator that can produce Japanese to English translations that are surpassing or at least equivalent to DeepL.

Support for Sugoi Japanese Translator will be available in the form of a free add-on that can be installed by everyone. The video above demonstrates how to install the add-on.

This is my personal opinion regarding DeepL.

DeepL itself is recognized by many as the best automatic translation machine. I think this is an overstatement and overrated. DeepL like any other machine translation has many flaws, especially in translating Japanese to English.
