Common Reference

Translating based on context is to be expected for a translator. I believe machine translator nowadays are trying their best to cope at this aspect. They will give you translation based of your full sentence, paragraph or perhaps your translation history. This is a good thing for most of the time, but sometimes this can be troublesome.

For example:スミレ(菫) can be translated literally as “violet” or as a name “Sumire”. Coincidentally, there is a character character named スミレ in your project.  We want it to be translated as “Sumire”, but since your machine translator trying to match the context of the paragraph, sometimes it will be translated as “violet”…. Inconsistency occurred, this means … a lot of manual correction is needed. And trust me my friend … correcting this, even with the help of “find & replace” function … still a tedious work.

This is when Common Reference is shining.

Common reference is located at the bottom of file list on left pane. You can directly edit Common reference just like other data.

Now, each time a text is sent to a translator server, Translator++ will translate that text using Common Reference first before sending it to translation services.

Below is example how this method can give different result  :

Thank you for this amazing software! A suggestion: It would be nice when unpacking an rpgmaker file to create a new folder with all its contents, in order to apply the translation istantly without using a separate decrypter
