Well Sunset didn't mind this movie to much.  We both went in thinking it couldn't be that bad.  But as we all know FOX and superhero movies (with exception to Deadpool) tend to be lackluster.  Both of us came away some what surprised.

3.5 outta 5 Bullets

Go have some fun, good set pieces, some shitty cg in places, all around ok time.

I had a similar experience going to see it. I went in with not very high hopes, figured it would be at least watchable. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit, but it did have problems. Mainly, the too many characters and not enough time. The movie basically starred Magneto and Mystique. One of the other gripes I had was with the 4 horsemen, more specifically Psylocke. I felt she was hit the hardest with a lack of character development; to the point I couldn't think of a motive for her besides "This feels like the winning side." Angel, his motive was obvious to following the guy that healed his wings. Storm was mostly star struck and misinformed and Magneto was just angry at the world. Psylocke was really just...there and she just disappeared when the horsemen fell apart. The last thing that annoyed me was how Magneto decided to help just from Raven's pep talk and, even after asking Quicksilver why he was there, Quicksilver copped out on the "You are my father!" line.

I didnt like Apokalyps and his superpowers disappearing. First half of movie he was unstopable, could teleport around globe with blink of an eye, but in second half of movie he stopped using his overpowered abilities so the main heroes (losers) could defeat him. Lame script.

I thought it was better than Batman versus Superman, but it reveled in it's own mediocrity. Nothing against Jennifer Lawrence, but I would prefer if she didn't return so Mystique isn't KatMyst. I've been listening to a lot of reviews of the film, and I thought someone brought up a good point about Magneto. Does Magneto need to be in every X-Men movie? The X-Men have incredibly vast array of villains. Why not devout time spent on Magneto to focus on some of the other mutants? Also I'd like another Rogue, but that may be because Oni's game. ^_^

I really enjoyed it, it did have problems but I would rank it in the middle of X-men films.

Yeah I was hoping they weren't setting up Quicksilver to die, again, with that not telling Magneto. I think the Magneto/Mystique worked really well in Dofp but not so much here. I agree it's just too many characters with nothing to really do and no clear motives.

Yeah I agree I wish they would just go off with a wacky villain like Mojo, or Mr Sinister is a good choice. Just have some adventures instead of there always being a boss villain and the world ending.

I quite liked the way it meshed with the other superhero movies that came out in the same time period. It tried to do the same thing as Batman vs Superman and Civil War. I kinda like having a horrible example of this kind of movie, a great example and the mediocre example that is Apocalypse.
