So after a community suggestion came forward about hosting our content via peer to peer (p2p or torrrents), I got to thinking.  I really like this idea as our current system is very unreliable (takes forever to upload), procs some users anti-virus, and once again we are left relying on a third party to host our projects.  Now if I set up a torrent with a password, would you guys be interested?  Leave a comment below, if your for or against and why.  Or you can just vote in the straw poll below.

I really like the idea, 10 times better than browser download imo. Saw your game on kat and was unsure of what you thought of that.

I've not.used torrents in years. I haven't had any issues with the browser dl. however I can pick it up just fine if that's the direction the rest of the patrons want to go :) -Bru

We cannot stop the community from re-uploading our content really. Really most people who d/l it off kat will most likely never pledge so at least they are talking about it. -SmokeShank

I will fallow you to the end of the world my bearded friend. Set up a torrent if you think it would be a better choice.

I stopped torrenting ten years ago, so I'm quite a bit out of the loop with that. Maybe I can find a qBittorrent app again. I dunno, make as easy as you can for me :)

alukcoR

Torrent for me is much faster, but I'm on board with either.

Jake theberge

The more people seed a torrent the faster it will go right? So this would be a good option. Your comics already have torrents on other sites btw, maybe you could set up your own for those too?

Crowsims

Just like you guys had your issue with the DC characters, I've discovered lately that certain production companies are being monitored on torrent sites. As long you use a setup to hide your IP I think your safe; ether way you do it I'm onboard to, just wanted to give you guys a heads up. :)

We both us VPN's so we got the privacy covered, which is an added bonus to using torrents as we don't need a log in on a third party site. -SmokeShank

Well some people can just share the link and the password so i'm more looking forward for VIP section of your site for patrons where you can be 100% sure that only who supported you get the acces. But yeah torrent sounds better than situation right now because of download speed and possibility of continuing download after PC was shut down(that will be really helpful when your games grow in size). So i'm voting for torrent.

use torrent

You should really opt for both as an endgame. Often torrents can be faster. But long term you'll be seeing people who don't torrent and prefer dl sites due to fears of torrent files in general.

Crowsims

Good to know. Then I say try it out and see what feedback you get

TurnipFactory

I have no interest in using any torrenting system, don't force it. Your strawpoll title says "distrusted" btw.

gunsmokegames

Ya I know lol! I saw it after I already shared it for like an hour (oh well). Thanks for the input Jethro -SmokeShank

I think your right, right now the poll sits at 2/3rds in favor, 1/3 not. -SmokeShank

Amocide

I have no issue with a torrenting system, will make it easier imo. Most people who are going to say no have yet to download a torrent so their ether scared or dont want to put in the effort to find a good torrent program xD

XRadar

I'm fine with torrents, too.

my cable company has a local witch hunt on torrent traffic on their services. They think they are fighting bootleg and pirated movies and such.... but it is a pain and they have locked my cable modem twice for torrent use. If that's what you are going for all I would asked if there be a backup system for none torrent users.

gunsmokegames

There is this, and also some isp's have upload or bandwidth limits which can be a hassle.- SmokeShank

Bittorrent sync might be a good option, its easy to use and People will easily be able to update the games

Yea, I've used this a little and it seems nice. People wouldn't even have to check the site for updates, just load it up and see if it downloads anything.
