Yeah, it's really kind of creepy...maybe those guys find the Joker sexually attractive, but are afraid to admit it, and having a woman dressed up like a male character helps them deal with their feelings, sort of like the folks who are into "genderbend" characters? I mean, if a guy's physically attracted to a male character, that's cool, but why not just admit it, instead of playing this goofy "let's pretend" game where one uses genderbending or females dressed in male costumes (or vice-versa)? People are less judgemental than one may think, if you're honest with them. :)
