CHAPTER 12

-

A/N:

So... I'm stuck with Rin and Constantine's, so here's a post of Sin's.

I'll post Rin's tomorrow, maybe Constantine's too if I can.

Writing is hard, man.

-

Relieving the tension on his neck by cracking them, he stretched his neck as he looked at the items on the floor, each very different in their own way with different words written on them.

On the furthest to the left, was a pair of thin gauntlets in black and red, the color scheme of Gremory. On each of the forearms were white and blue words "In The Light, That's My Way!" on the left, and "I am The Ghost of Vengeance!" on the right.

The second item were a pair of metal brass knuckles, with the same color scheme, but with hints of white and black. The wordings for them were "Right and Wrong Are Not For Sure...".

The furthest item to the right was a wakizashi with its handle covered with black cloth in a traditional katana wrapping technique, tsuka-ito. Its hilt was blood-red with the design of a dragon. The wording was on the sheath instead of the weapon itself. "Life Is About Swimming Against the Harshest Waves." was on one flat half of the sheath, while the other side had "The Moment You Give In, You'll Get Wiped Out!", all worded in Japanese.

The item next to it was a naginata with a small golden and black flag on the handle near the blade. The color scheme was still red and black, but the butt-end of the naginata was a golden and gray with a half symbol of a devil, the other half seemingly missing. On the flag were the words "I Can't Go Home, Because I'm Afraid" and "Something Will Change" on each side of the flag.

Finally, the middle item of the bunch was a simple concave metal shield with a diameter of 2.5 feet. Out of the bunch of weapons, this shield had no color, it only had the color silver. Behind the shield where one's arms were supposed to be fitted simply wrote "What Do You Fight For?"

Satisfied with his inventions, Sin groups them up before sealing them into their separate bags with a note for each of them.

Looking at the calendar, he was thankful that he still had 2 days before the 10th-day mark. That meant he had two days to locate the ORC's location, get in there without triggering and disturbing the possibly high-level magic wards and alarms, and dip out without setting off anything.

Should be pretty easy for him.

God, tracking and planning took a whole day. He hasn't even slept a wink ever since creating the magic artifacts, and it was midnight right now too.

Who knew that the Gremory Manor had some kind of notice-me-not ward, like the one in Harry Potter? He missed the Manor three times even though it was as big as a soccer stadium.

Wearing the Gravity Mantle just in case his stealth sucked, he cloaked himself in Gear energy before walking softly into the Manor, admiring the Manor's beauty.

The one who keeps the garden sure does his job splendidly, the grass is cut so well to the point that each individual grass is cut evenly... That must take so much dedication.

RIP! RIP! RIP!

Hearing the sound of ripping somewhere in the forest, he thinks for a moment to recall the events before groaning mentally.

"Right, Dress Break..."

He would have facepalmed if his hands weren't full right now.

Wait, he could just make them float.

Using his magic to telepathically grab them, he facepalmed.

God, he was high right now. He definitely is asking for a leave tomorrow.

Reaching the door to the main manor, he thinks for a second before taking another route since opening the manor door suddenly at midnight would be a major no no in the terms of logic.

Hastening his steps, he reached the main balcony (He thinks it is since it was the biggest of the multiple balconies of the manor).

Floating up to it, he stares at it before mentally facepalming once again. He could have just magic to open the door without tripping any alarms.

Sighing, he used silently opens the door with magic, temporary tricking the door that it was still unopened before entering it.

He entered a hallway... Ugh, meaning he had to find them and place their bags individually then. What a pain.

Hyoudou Issei's POV

Buchou ordered them to gather in the dining table.

Staring at the duffle bags that were placed on each of their doors, Buchou sighed in annoyance as Akeno-san came back to the room.

"Anything?"

She asked Akeno-san, she returned it with a shake of her head.

"Nothing, not even the trackers had a trace of anyone breaking in."

Looking back at the duffle bags, Kiba asked.

"Did the detection spells detect anything bad with them?"

Koneko shook her head in response.

"... None."

"So why don't we open it then?"

Issei gave his piece.

"It may be dangerous, who knows if this person, who could trip even Gremory wards, could be hiding something dangerous inside — "

As Akeno-san was explaining the situation, suddenly a hologram made out of magic appeared, prompting everyone, including him, to get into a stance.

Buchou's face darkened as a familiar person was in the hologram.

"Good morning, everyone."

That Man was standing, wrapped in his mantle and holding onto his staff as he greeted everyone.

Buchou really hates That Man, ever since he attacked them. Heck, he thinks that everyone in the Peerage hates him, they just don't vocalize it out loud.

"Do not worry, this is a recording, and the items on the table are not dangerous at all. If you do not believe me, which I think you hopefully should, I received a... Request from someone you all know."

His head looked towards the side before looking back at them. Raising his free hand out, a miniature hologram appeared on his hand.

"""?!"""

Everyone looked confused as the face of his arch nemesis, the threat to all boys, Sin, was projected on his hand.

"You may know him as your teacher, Sin Kiske. As for how we know each other, well, it's... complicated, to say the least."

That Man's tone when he talked about Sin was as if he had some dark history with him.

"He had requested me to create some items to aid you all in your Rating Game tomorrow. And since he used a favor that I gave him a while ago, I obliged."

The duffle bags suddenly start to float as each of them floated towards a member of the Peerage, including him.

"There is a message from him too, if you'd wish to listen to."

Letting the hologram of Sin's face fade away on his hand, he raised his staff and tapped the butt of the staff onto the ground, causing the hologram that they were watching to fizzle for a while before the image of Sin sitting on an office chair appeared.

"Hey, kids."

He had a grin on his face, as if picturing the shocked faces of the Peerage right now, as he started to talk.

"I know, a lot of questions for me, I'll allow you to make a Q&A later once this whole situation's all done."

He said as he leaned on the chair.

"Now, I heard from That Man — Do I really have to call him that? — About the Rating Game, which is still new to me. Didn't really listen to him when we interacted a few days ago!"

He chuckled at the shot at That Man.

"Anyways, I asked That Man to pay back a favor. Open them, I'm sure you'll like them."

Issei dug into his duffle bag before taking out his shield. The others did the same and brought out their weapons. Kiba with gauntlets, Koneko-chan with brass knuckles, Akeno-san with a naginata, and Buchou with a wakizashi.

"What Do You Fight For? What does that mean?"

Issei asked in confusion at the words, looking around to see most of the Peerage freezing when they read theirs, their eyes in shock.

"The wordings are not my idea, for your information. It was all That Man's."

Sin said quickly with his hands raised.

"Moving on, from what That Man told me, the weapons are nigh indestructible, and are good conducts of demonic energy.

The special thing of them are the hidden functions when you awaken them, but he didn't tell me anything at all about them, so I really can't help in that department."

Ruffling his hair, Sin sighs in annoyance as he mutters.

"Fucking bastard... As secretive as always..."

Shaking his head, he breathes deeply.

"Listen, I know that this fight will determine something very important, and from what I heard, pretty fucking life-changing. So, I hope these weapons will help you all.

And if anything happens to any of you, remember that I'll be right here in Kuoh, a teacher's gotta do what a teacher is meant to, am I right?"

With a smile, he gave a finger salute.

"I wish you all good luck. Break some legs and jaws for me. Have fun too, if you can.

Oh, right! Koneko, inside your duffle bags are 10 days worth of sweets, god knows that your mood turns horrible when you don't get them — "

Before he could finish his sentence with a shit-eating grin, the connection cuts off, leaving them all staring in space of the the now disappeared hologram, with Koneko digging into her duffle bag to take out a bar of chocolate.
