CHAPTER 18

A Week Later...

It's been a total of 5 days after the tournament, and Gohru had only woken up 3 days prior, meaning that he slept for 2 days straight. The moment he woke up, his stomach started roaring with hunger as the doctor immediately checked on him.

After a gruesome 10 minutes of checking and making sure that he was fine, he was given the go-to for eating, to which he immediately ran to the hospital's cafeteria and grabbed as much food as he could see.

The dojo had already put a total of 500,000 Yen into his bank account already, so he spent almost 5,000 alone on food, eating 20 bowls of Katsudon, 8 bowls of Miso Udon, and 2 glasses of Coke.

And once his hunger was sated, he went back to his hospital ward and sat as the orphanage's matron and Kenichi's family rushed to see him.

Apparently, Omori was discharged a few hours after being knocked out, and he left his number too! So that was a plus. He was excited to hold a sparring session with him, Omori, Kenichi, and Isami after this whole ordeal.

After a few hours of being lectured, and scolded and a last check-up, he was discharged from the hospital.

He took a day of total rest, which meant no school and no training (It was hard not to sneak out), and a lot of meals before he was 100%.

Good news, his Quirk ran overtime while unconscious since he could feel his cells were stronger than ever, especially the cells near his arms. It was as if every cell of his body had a supply of Red Bull, increasing his energy generated by at least two folds.

After the rest day, he went to a suit shop (He had a 7-day leave) and bought a suit for the meeting with the consultant tomorrow. What was funny was that the shop owner and staff immediately recognized him and congratulated him for his win while asking him to take a picture of him in their suit for an advertisement shot. In exchange, they will give him a 10% discount for any clothing in the store, so it was a good deal.

Walking out of the shop with a fresh new suit, he immediately thought to himself.

'My hair looked horrible in the mirror while wearing the suit.'

To be fair, after a few years of living in this universe, he noticed that everyone here looked amazing. Even the ones who society deem as ugly looked at most a 7/10 while the rest were an 8 on average.

'Maybe it was an anime universe thing?'

Looking at the mirror in the dressing room, he'd only realize then that he'd never actually taken a second to look at his face before.

He had jet-black and silky hair, while his eyes were an obsidian black. His eyebrows were thick and perfect while his eyelashes were long and beautiful. He had some freckles between his eyes and mouth, but it sort of added to the charm a little.

He was beautiful. A 10/10. A greek god in the making.

'Thank you, Mr. Orb for making me fabulous!'

He had never taken care of his hair before and ignored it, cutting it with his scissors and tying the back of his hair with a rubber band when it was too long for his liking. So, deciding to at least spend a little for his public image, he headed to a salon and asked for a haircut.

"Oh my god!"

The hairdresser who was manning the cashier yelped when she saw him step in before getting up from her seat.

"Jin Gohru! I've been wanting to meet you! Your hair is atrocious!"

... It was quite an interesting experience. The woman was not afraid to shoot about his shit fashion sense and shit hairstyle. She even hit him when he told her that he didn't wash his hair often.

After 2 hours of cutting and washing and giving instructions and recommendations, I walked out with bags on both hands filled with hair products. Thinking about the amount he spent today alone, he shivered.

'19,000 Yen? Jesus, fashion is scary... Oh yeah, I need a phone.'

Once he hailed a taxi and went back to the orphanage to store the items, he put a hoodie on and wore a mask before walking to the tech side of the city for a phone.

There were many stores that sold electronics, but he decided to go to the official stores to buy them. Entering the building of "HeroicSpace", he walked into the phone section as an employee watches him pick up a phone model.

"Good afternoon, sir. May I help you?"

"I'm looking for a phone, a budget one that's not expensive yet perfect for regular use."

After deciding to buy a model that the employee recommended due to the reasonable budget price along with an internet plan to go along with it, he walked out of the store with a grin on his face.

'Finally, a phone!'

Opening "HeroTube", he typed for a song but frowned when it did not exist.

'Oh... Yeah...'

He forgot that this wasn't his universe, meaning that music was not the same here.

Sighing in defeat, he starts walking back home while inserting the numbers of everyone important to him and giving them a brief message saying that this was his phone before closing it, opting to watch the scenery instead,

The car stops as Gohru walked out, fully decked out in a dark blue and black suit wool-based sharkfin suit with a symbol of a gold crown on his right breast pocket. His hair was styled to match his explosive yet gentle personality slicked back with a few strands rebellious while wearing a hair band to keep the rest of his hair in a short ponytail.

Tugging on his tie, he takes a deep breath before walking into the law firm.

"If I'm being honest, Jin-san, this contract is alright." She says the moment she finishes her brief check over the contract, taking off her glasses as Gohru asks.

"So there are no loopholes or any way they can exploit me?"

"None that I could see. But what's interesting was Section 3 on page 5, the one where they will increase your monthly salary. I've never seen such a thing before, so I can't say for sure whether it is disadvantageous for you or not."

She says honestly as she takes out another file different from Asics since it has a different logo.

"Currently, Nike is asking for collaboration too it seems, but after reading their contract, Asics is much for favorable, a difference of 20% salary at the same terms. Not only that Nike is trying to keep you on their leashes from what I understand from the contract."

Nodding his head in understanding, the two continue to discuss the offers that he got after fainting. While he was unconscious, multiple corporations sent their offers so he was bombarded with stress from the sudden increase in attempts at collaboration.

After what seemed to be forever, he decided to take Asics' offer since it gives him the most freedom out of all the 7. He was only required to go to two tournaments per month while wearing their sports clothing. Other than photoshoots that were random and meeting, he was left completely free to do what he wants.

Signing the contract, he handed the contract back to Tashiro-san who took it and placed it into his briefcase.

"I hope that this will be a long and fruitful collaboration, Jin-san."

"Thank you very much, Tashiro-san."

"It's a pleasure, Jin-san. Now, remember, in a week or two, one of my staff will lead you to the new house that you have requested, so please be wary."

After bowing, the two left the cafe with a smile on their faces.

In a place far far away...

"It seems that we were too late... Sigh... A pity."

"I am at your mercy, Sir. I failed the mission given by you."

"It's in the past already, Kurogiri. Who'd thought that his fame would skyrocket that quickly? In any case, his final technique is quite interesting, though devastating to the user based on the damage on his arm."

"Yes, Sir. That technique was able to pierce diamond-level durability."

"Hmm... No matter. Just note his achievements to me, Kurogiri. You are needed for Young Shigaraki's growth. I expect you to teleport here once you've done with your other mission."

"Yes, Sir."
