CHAPTER 1

Who'd thought that reincarnation was that painless?

No one but me I guess.

How'd I know, you may ask. Well, that's because I died.

Yep. Died. With a capital D in front and a lowercase D at the end.

The reason? Well, it's... Kinda embarrassing. But it do be like that sometimes.

I was taking a dump after Taco Bell at home, my original home, at around 2 in the afternoon. Taco Bell literally killed me. That was funny now that I think about it.

Oops, sidetracked. My bad, moving on. I was in the toilet letting it go when suddenly a truck appeared through some kind of pinkish-red portal and slammed into me.

Good news, I think I shat the demon that was in me. Bad news, I died.

Oh, wrong priorities. My bad. Anyways, I died. And then the moment everything went black, it was bright again. Too bright.

So grunting, I opened my eyes to see myself... in a lab? Looking down, I see that I was on a grey leather couch that screamed quality. But the weirdest thing was my arms.

They were small as if somehow I was somehow in a body of a kid...

"Oh! It seems that you've woken up!"

A voice of an old man sounded as I looked in the direction of the voice before my eyes widened.

"W-What?"

That face! But this is — Hold on! Why the fuck is Professor Oak in front of me?! And he looks so real yet anime-like?

Ohhh... Fuck.

"I found you during my morning walk in Route 1, knocked out unconscious on the ground, so I quickly picked you up before any pokemon could harm you." He explains as he walked towards me.

I reincarnated. I fucking reincarnated.

Fuck.

Anyways, the moment I snapped out of it, I coughed up a story of why I was unconscious on the floor.

"Er... Sorry, Professor. I think I forgot to eat breakfast today because I was too excited to be a Pokemon Trainer."

Please buy it, please buy it.

"Oh! Yes, yes! I too sometimes skip my meals when I'm too busy experimenting or researching! No problem, boy, no problem." He chuckles at the memory as I sighed in relief.

'Thank god, this guy's chill. Wait, is it Arceus now since I'm in this universe?'

"Hmm... Pokemon Trainer, yes? Come, let's get you registered into the server before I let you go with a Pokemon."

He says as he signals me to follow him. Together, we walked down to the first floor of his lab where a huge computer was present. Sitting down on his seat, he starts typing as he asked for basic information like my name and age.

Apparently, the world did not use a registry system to track all humans, so that was pure luck.

"And what's your name, boy?"

"Magnus Clarke, Professor."

Click Clack Click Clack

"And since you said that today's your start to your journey, that means you're 11..."

Click Clack Click Clack

"Would you mind stepping here please, Magnus?"

Looking at his pointed finger while he was busy typing, I saw that he was pointing at a metal circle pad. Stepping on it, suddenly arms came out of the top of the ceiling as they start scanning my face and body before retracting back.

"146 centimeters with good body shape. Impressive for your age, Magnus."

"Oh, thanks." I answered with a blush. Damn you, children hormones!

While Professor Oak was doing his stuff on the supercomputer, I asked him some brief questions regarding this world.

My first question was, how do Pokemon Trainers earn a living?

The answer was that since Pokemon Trainers barely pass through 3 to 4 gyms, the Pokemon Association, basically the government that supervises every region, made it so that for every gym badge you earn, you get a certain salary per month.

The more badges you earn, the higher the salary reaches. For getting the first badge, you earn a salary of 1000P (Pokedollars), and it increases two folds per badge. So if I get all 8 badges, my salary was 256,000P. And that's not including bonuses for defeating trainers.

Yes, apparently it was normal for the losers to give the winners Pokedollars, so prepare to lose money, brats! Hehehe...

The second question is, do we have to give a fee for every Pokemon we catch?

The answer was yes. For every Pokemon that was not in your party, you have to pay a fee of 500P a month per pokemon to the Pokemon Centers since they are the people who take care of your stored Pokemon.

'I guess that was why the "Catch them All" slogan didn't work for Ash since he only caught a handful per region.'

After a few more minutes of him typing on his supercomputer, he stands up with a stretch.

"While we wait for your card to finish, we shall start the selection process then. Gary and the others are supposed to get their Pokemon tomorrow, but I guess letting you choose first wouldn't hurt. The early bird gets the worm, after all."

'Gary? That means that I'm in the anime version of the world! Sick!'

He says before leading me to the infamous container with 3 Pokeballs in them along with a hidden compartment in the container in the middle that holds Pikachu. Each Pokeball had its respective Pokemon names on them, Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur

"Luckily I have a total of 4 starters since my grandson and another two that are in the area are going to start their journey tomorrow, so take your time and choose."

He said before walking back to the supercomputer, leaving me alone with the Pokeballs.

'Alright, think, Magnus. What is the best Pokemon here that would give me the best chance to win all the badges?'

Charmander was out of the picture in the first gym and second alone unless I get him to learn Iron Claw for Brock like how Ash trained Pikachu to learn Iron Tail. But the moment we step foot in the second gym, Charmander isn't gonna cut it. Even if I want a Charizard as my Starter.

The other starters are fine too... But a Charizard... But badges... Charizard...

Eh, fuck it. I want a fucking flying dragon that can shoot out flames.

Grabbing the Charmander's Pokeball, I gulped in excitement as I pressed the button in the middle. My heart started to race when I saw the Pokeball open, launching a red beam onto the floor. This was my childhood dream, to be able to be a Pokemon Master, and now I had the chance.

The beam fades as an orange cute lizard roared cutely at me before hugging my leg since it was so small.

Jesus, Arceus, whatever! This is just so cute!

"Charmander? I see, a very good choice!" Professor Oak praised me after I walked back to the supercomputer alongside Charmander

After giving him the Charmander's Pokeball, he places it into one of the many slots on the supercomputer and got to work again, this time to register this specific Charmander into my list and to add a lock so that no one can steal it and use it.

"Now, even if I put your Charmander into your list, be careful. There's a certain Team Rocket that possesses technologies to nullify the lock, bad people, I tell you." He shakes his head as he finishes up his typing before handing me a fresh warm card with my face on it before walking into a store room.

Name: Magnus Clarke

Age: 11

Birthdate: 28 Juen 323 AW

Rank: H

Badges: 0

As I was inspecting the card, Professor Oak came out with a red device in his hand along with a backpack. Handing me the iconic red device, he explains what it was.

"This is a Pokedex, a device that gives you information about Pokemon that you come across during your journey. Simply point the lens at the back of the Pokedex at a Pokemon and it will show you its information. It also is a communication device that already has my number on it, so message me when you're free or need some advice."

Nodding, I pointed the Pokedex at my newly obtained Charmander who really needs a name.

[Charmander, the Lizard Pokemon.]

[A flame burns on the tip of its tail from birth. It is said that a Charmander dies if its flame ever goes out.]

[Ability: Blaze, powers up Fire Type moves when in a pinch.]

[Moves: Scratch, Growl]

"You can see that it states Charmander's ability and moves, but I presetted it onto the Pokedex since I know of its current moveset and ability. So remember that you can only know of its ability and moveset after seeing it and recording it, alright?"

'So it isn't like other fanfics where the Pokedex can scan for its moves? That's cool and realistic.'

"And here are the essentials that every Professor gives. A sleeping bag, a watch, a compass, some fuel for a lantern inside, rations of food for a week, bottles of water, a water filter for any type of water, a survival kit, and lastly 5 Pokeballs."

He hands me the bag as I dug for the contents that he said, true enough, it was all in there.

"Thank you so much, Professor." I said genuinely as he could have just left me out in the woods, or not provided anything at all. He just waved his hand as he chuckles.

"How mannerful. It is no problem, I sometimes have too much money and free time anyways, so as long as I can help others in their journey like how my old professor did, I am content."

... What a chad. I will remember this, Professor Oak. I will help you as much as I can, I swear.

After talking a little more about safety, I was ready for my journey to begin. Alongside the Professor, we headed to the entrance of Route 1, walking by a few buildings including the one that Ash was in.

'I'm a day earlier than Ash and Gary, so I should meet them tomorrow.'

I thought about helping the two in their journey, but I digress. It's called a journey, I can't spoonfeed the two kids for everything. I'll shadow Ash and only help him if he needs it. Gary on the other hand has the power of money so he should be fine.

"Give me a call when you reach Vivirdian City, alright Magnus?"

"I will, Professor, and thank you for your help."

"No problem, now go! Your Pokemon Journey starts here, Magnus Clarke!"

Smiling, I waved as I took a step into Route 1.

A/N:

Hi, Damaine here. So, how was it? Hopefully, it was good.

Now, I've never watched the anime Pokemon series for almost a decade now so I may not remember some details, but I'll try and make it as accurate as I can.

That's all, peace!

Also, thanks for joining my Patreon, Charlie. You seriously made my day ;)

I love it!

It's unfortunate I'm not really the best person about Pokemon, fate or Dragon Ball when it comes to FanFictions.
