After giving it some thought, I have developed a new idea for protecting against bans in Genshin Impact, including those caused by the use of ReShade and other similar tools.

The tier would cost $6.89 and would include:

  • Blocking Mihoyo telemetry domains
  • Blocking known domains associated with internet abuse or harassment.
  • Blocking domains known to publish false or misleading information.
  • Blocking domains promoting hate speech or spreading false information.
  • Blocking domains that distribute malicious software through ads.
  • Blocking domains known to host or distribute malware.
  • Blocking domains involved in phishing attempts.
  • Blocking domains involved in ransomware attacks.
  • Blocking domains that redirect users to unintended websites.
  • Blocking domains known to promote scams or fraudulent activities.
  • Blocking domains that send unwanted email messages.
  • Blocking domains that distribute spyware or adware.
  • Blocking domains that track user activity without their consent.
  • Blocking domains that display ads on YouTube and mobile devices. And so on!

It's worth emphasizing that I use this solution on a daily basis without encountering any issues. Since every day the DNS server blocks many domains for various requests, it emphasizes the importance of having a reliable and comprehensive solution. Personally, I think this new system is a significant improvement over the previous hosts file method. If implemented, the blacklist would contain approximately 6 million dangerous or telemetry domains, resulting in a significant enhancement in network security.

What are your thoughts on this proposed solution?

doesn't the legendary cat offers somewhat similar protection?

There's no point comparing it to the lower tier, as it operates on a different principle. It's a plain Windows hosts file that gets replaced in the system. The new tier features more domains on the blacklist as it's a private DNS server on Pi-hole. This list gets enriched with new domains on a daily basis. The current count is 6 million domains on the blacklist. I'll also add that besides Pi-hole, you'll be able to use Unbound. Read about it on the Internet, because it's really worth it. If you live outside of Europe (far from the server), your internet may slow down.
