When Eleven receives a psychic vision from her mom, she is able to find a girl from her past. This episode really put Eleven through the ringer. Her morality was tested and she had to make some really tough choices. 

What a great episode! It left us on quite the cliffhanger...

IMO this was easily the worst episode of the entire series. Kali as a character (a different kid from Hawkins lab with different powers) was a cool concept but I just don't think this episode added anything at all to the story.

This is a very divisive episode for fans. A lot of people don't like it. I've grown to like it more when I rewatch the series. It's a nice dive into El and letting her start to form her own identity. Kali is an interesting character, but in the end, she was using El like Dr. Brenner was. She helped El tap better into her powers, but she was still doing it for her own reasons. Kali had to fend for herself, but El has actually had people who truly loved and wanted to take care of her. Hopper might have gone too far with some things, but he did it out of love and wanting to keep her safe. It's a nice look at 2 similar people and how different they can turn out based on circumstance.
