You voted for The Last Samurai! I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie since it's been so highly recommended. All of your movie suggestions were fantastic and I made sure to collect them all for future polls.

For 2001 I'd recommend reading the book first. I found that it made the movie a lot better. It's a visual feast for sure but a lot of the character's internal dialog is left out of the movie. You can see what they're doing, but I was never able to get a good sense of what they were feeling or thinking before reading the book. Far less daunting than reading the entire LotR trilogy before sitting down to 10 hours worth of movie 😀

I agree about reading the book, but after the movie. Jax is very sharp, I'd really like to see her take on it cold and unspoiled. And yes, I read the book first. This is borderline spoiler territory, but one of the reasons that 2001 is so special to me is that it doesn't give clear answers.
