The quiet of the forest was only broken by the rhythmic crunching of leaves and dead grass beneath their feat. The adventurers had searched for days now, but still couldn't find the entrance they were looking for. With a sigh, one happens to look up to the outcrop, just in time to see a massive, hungry wolf glaring back at them.

This map is a great place for a random encounter through the woods should the seasons happen to be changing. Or perhaps some kind of magic / sickness has gripped this part of the woods, causing the plants there to slowly whither and die.

The high ground here would almost certainly be used by enemies, even ordinary beasts looking for their next meal. The trees here provide a lot of opportunity for melee units to advance around the edges while still keeping cover from ranged opponents. Having high ground nearby is also a great opportunity for scouts to get a better view of the surrounding area, or to simply set up camp on.
