We've hit August, which means it's (somehow) Kickstarter month! To be honest, I'm pretty nervous about holding a Kickstarter. Our last one was so long ago, and the platform has changed quite a bit, so it's like relearning it all over again.

Really hoping we can get 30% or so funded within the first day, since that makes a big difference. We have some really cool tiers and rewards this time around, which you might even be able to see a preview of down below.

Anyway, lets jump into a quick update:


The Sun and the Moon

Writing and editing

We've about finished editing of the original sections of the game, but we've put a small pause on editing while we work on some of the new scenes, as they are going to affect and alter the ending somewhat.

In the writing sphere, we're working on the next additional scene we're adding to the game which follows Lucius.

Here's a preview of the scene I'm writing at the moment. I find that these moments are some of my favourite to write - a lone character in the dead of night, reflecting solemnly on the past. There's something that makes me feel I'm there beside them when I write these scenes.


Programming

Programming is continuing steadily, with Lucius' first new scene about ready for release to beta tier Patrons. We're still waiting on a few backgrounds to be complete/sketched though.

Art

Most art work this month has been in the background front, with a few new BGs sketched and complete. At first, we weren't planning too many new locations for the prequel, but our list has increased considerably.


Here's an example of one of our new completed backgrounds. This is a very special location that will be revisited in a future game, too.


Dreambound

Writing and editing

While most of our writing time is being used on the prequel at the moment, we've been using the time before the Kickstarter to lay out some more plans about the different routes and how each one will play out. 

We've decided to change some sections majorly, which means int he end we will have a *suggested* route order, though you're also free not to follow that. 

In a couple of weeks we'll resume editing of chapter 2 of Dreambound, directly where the demo ends off, to prepare for the first beta release (which will be after the Kickstarter ends!).


Art

Here's a little preview of the latest CG that Sinran has completed:

Night time CGs really are my favourites.

This CG is actually one of the final ones for this route. We're getting through the art at a nice pace, so we've decided to switch it up and go back to doing some sprites for side characters next.


Kickstarter

Our Kickstarter is launching on the 29th of August at 12PM EDT. This should be an okay time for most people around the world (minus me... 2am...).


As a bonus, here's a link allowing you to view our Kickstarter page ahead of time. The "rewards" section is still being complete, but this is a great chance to check out the tiers ahead of time.
