November 2021 Monthly Update (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

I hope you're all having a lovely November! Halloween came and went, and now I'm already in the christmas spirit.

Anyway, lets jump into the update!

Art

Fuyuure's finished up with a large batch of CGs in the last month, with around 8 currently now in the sketch phase.

Why don't we revisit a couple of our favourites that have been posted?

Anyway, every time I look at these CGs I'm instantly so amazed at how talented Fuyuure is!

October also had us post four different Halloween artworks on our various platforms. Three were Patreon exclusives, with one being posted to social media.

Programming

Not much of an update on the programming side. The base game is already fully programmed, after all. Cats on a Lilypad have been preparing the files for adding the voice lines, while we've been slowly adding CGs to the various scenes and the gallery as they're completed.

Voice Acting

Our last session for Cyne's route is upon us, which means lots more voice files will be ready to edit and insert into the game.  We've also privately cast a few minor extras lately, so it's good to finally see the light as the end of the tunnel in regards to the Cyne route voice acting.

The Inn Between

Our dear friends from Cats on a Lilypad Studios have launched their Kickstarter for their fantasy BL game, The Inn Between. We've also done some work on that project, so we'd absolutely love if you checked it out!

Beta Builds

We recently released the first beta build for The Sun and the Moon, the TDS prequel! 

It's only a short look at the game (Which will be released after TDS is out), but it was great to finally get a build for it out.

Release Date

I know everyone is waiting on a release date for The Divine Speaker. Let me tell you, so am I!

At the moment, we don't want to give an exact date until the art is slightly closer to being completed, in case anything crops up that slows it down again.

We currently have 8 CGs in sketch phase being worked on, then 17 others that have yet to be started. It still sounds like a lot, but we're currently trying to finish at least 2 a week, which means that they would be completed in Jan or Feb. We're hoping absolutely every other piece of work will be ready by the time the last CG is ready to put in game.

However.

Voice acting was a huge undertaking that we didn't quite fully understand back when we started the game. As you can imagine, most of the voice acting cost ended up coming out of my pocket, and with such a huge game it has seriously racked up. But that's neither here nor there - we promised VA, so that is what we're doing.

But timewise, we still have two routes left to record, and our voice actors will have a break over the christmas period. There is every chance that it won't all be recorded, edited, and put in game by the time the art is complete.

If that is the case, we will first be releasing without voice acting, and patching it in once its complete. Although it's a hard decision, I don't want to keep anyone waiting any longer than necessary.

Anyway -- we'll see what happens, but I wanted to update you all on my thought process!

YuriJam

We're still working on our YuriJam entry, Amelie, which will release by the end of the month. Those on the game tier will also get it for free! It's only a short game, but it was great to funnel our creative energy into something while we wait for art to be complete for The Divine Speaker.
